Microreactors open a novel way of chemical synthesis in a highly controlled way. Due to their improved mass and heat transfer, these devices are well suited, e.g., for mixing-sensitive, fast and highly exothermic reactions. Endothermic reactions profit as well from the improved thermal management.

Multiphase photocatalytic microreactors
Chemical Engineering Science, 2017Heterogenous photocatalysis has been paid much attention in the last decades since it can utilize clean and abundant sunlight energy to drive reaction systems for cleaner productions and environmental protections. Those applications are usually conducted by multiphase reactors to make immobilized or dispersed solid photocatalyst in contact with ...

Microreactors for radiopharmaceutical synthesis
Lab on a Chip, 2009Multiple advantages of microfluidics have been demonstrated in the area of organic synthesis. However, only a limited number of them have found applications in radiopharmaceutical synthesis, while that is an area where the need for improvements offered by microfluidics is very significant.

Liposomes as Biomimetic Microreactors
2018Liposomes have become an important model in fundamental biomembrane research, including biophysical, biochemical, and cell biological studies of membranes and cell function. They are thoroughly studied in several applications, such as drug delivery systems in medical applications and as controlled release systems, microencapsulating media, signal ...

Palladium Membrane Microreactors
2000Novel palladium membrane microreactors have been designed and microfabricated. Selective hydrogen flux has been demonstrated through the palladium membrane in the microreactor. The membrane microreactors can be used for a variety of hydrogenation and dehydrogenation reactions, as well as in hydrogen purification applications.
