The Spatial Dependence of Soil Surface Microrelief
2006Surface microtopography of tilled soils is subject to spatial and temporal changes. The objective of this study was evaluate the spatial dependence of point elevation data on two cultivated soils located at Northwest Spain. Sixty-six microrelief data sets were obtained on bare plots. Each data set consisted of 4624 point elevations on a 20 mm grid. The

Profilometric characterization of DOEs with continuous microrelief
SPIE Proceedings, 2008Methodology of local characterization of continuous-relief diffractive optical elements has been discussed. The local profile depth can be evaluated using "approximated depth" defined without taking a profile near diffractive zone boundaries into account. Several methods to estimate the approximated depth have been offered.

Benefits of a draw plate with regular microrelief
Russian Engineering Research, 2008To improve drawing technology, cylindrical steel 45 rods (1810 HB ) of rated length 200 mm are investigated experimentally. These samples are machined with dimensionless accuracy up to 0.02 mm and surface roughness Ra = 0.144‐0.384 µ m. On the basis of the results in [1], 9 ie steel draw plates (58‐61 HRC ) with irregular and regular microrelief are ...

Electromigration instability of cylindrical surface microrelief
IVMC '95. Eighth International Vacuum Microelectronics Conference. Technical Digest (Cat. No.TH8012), 2002Instability of cylindrical conducting surface microrelief fluctuations is investigated by means of small perturbation analysis using Herring chemical potential. Unstable wave-vector domain is found and effects of microtips build up and modification are discussed from the unstable modes increments viewpoint.

Interferometric Microrelief Sensing With TerraSAR-X—First Results
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2010The meter-scale ground resolution of TerraSAR-X spotlight images promises for the first time the 3-D detection of landforms and landform changes on the microrelief scale from a satellite-based remote sensing system. Using repeat-pass pairs of high-resolution spotlight images, this paper analyzes the spatial variation of coherence on the micro- and ...

Skin hydration, microrelief and greasiness of normal skin in Antarctica
Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, 2017AbstractBackgroundThe skin is the primary defence of the human body against external factors from physical, chemical, mechanical and biologic origin. Climatic factors together with low temperature and sun radiation affect the skin. The effect of climatic conditions in Antarctica on healthy skin has not been previously addressed.ObjectivesThe aim of ...

Sensitive skin: correlation with skin surface microrelief appearance
Skin Research and Technology, 2006Background/purpose: Sensitive skin is a condition associated with reduced tolerance to environmental factors and/or the application of topical products, such as cosmetics. Its pathophysiology has not been fully elucidated and few data are available on its prevalence.

Age-Related Changes of the Human Skin Surface Microrelief
Gerontology, 2009In the present study we describe an original semi-automated image analysis method to quantitate the changes of the geometric properties of cutaneous microrelief with age. The skin surface is composed of very fine lines intersecting each other and forming polygons.
