Vestibular afferent responses to microrotational stimuli
Brain Research, 1991Intracellular microelectrode recording/labelling techniques were used to investigate vestibular afferent responses in the bullfrog, to very small amplitude (less than 0.5 degree p-p) sinusoidal rotations in the vertical plane over the frequency range of 0.063-4 Hz.

Study on Microrotating Structure Using Microwire Electrical Discharge Machining
Materials and Manufacturing Processes, 2014This paper discusses fabrication method of the rotating structure using microwire electrical discharge machining (micro-WEDM). A high-speed rotating spindle has been designed and installed to in-house developed micro-WEDM equipment with two axis to enable the processing microrotating structure. In order to realize high-precision processing, a numerical

Horospherical coordinates for optimal Cosserat microrotations
Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 2018This note proposes the use of horospherical coordinates to overcome the problems associated with multiple eigenvalues occurring in the Cosserat microrotation problem. The advantages of this coordinate system are argued.

AbstractIt is apparent that non‐Newtonian nanofluids (especially, Casson and Carreau) find their ubiquitous utilization in diverse industrial processes. The magnetohydrodynamics concept is significantly implemented in the engineering design process. Darcy–Forchheimer's effect characterized by inertia and boundary effects ameliorates the rate of heat ...

Abstract Background and objectives The prime focus of this investigation is to explore nonlinear radiation effects on MHD micropolar Casson fluid over a stretching surface. Impact of microrotation on flow and heat transfer characteristics has been examined under the influence of thermophoresis and Brownian motion phenomenon.

Nonsimilar equations exist in many fluid flow problems and these equations are difficult to be solved using variation of the physical parameters. The key purpose of this study is to find nonsimilarity solution of nanofluid on an exponentially shrunk sheet in the existence of micropolar nanofluid without considerations of the thermal radiation and ...

Bridging the Gap Between Continuum Mechanical Microrotation Viscosity and Lagrangian Point-Particles
Journal of Fluids Engineering, 2013The microrotation viscosity is an essential fluid property in micropolar fluid dynamics. By considering a dilute suspension of inertial spherical point-particles in an otherwise Newtonian fluid, an explicit analytical expression for the microrotation viscosity is derived. This non-Newtonian continuum mechanical fluid property is seen to be proportional
