Microrotation-augmented Energy-Minimization for 3D Nanocrystalline Cu Structures
2008Molecular dynamics simulations are frequently used to study deformation mechanisms at the nanoscale. However, the lattice orientations of grains in the starting nanocrystalline (nc) configurations are typically based on either random orientations (Van Swygenhoven and Derlet [1]; Schiotz et al.

The goal of this paper is to provide a rigorous justification of the asymptotic model proposed by Beneš et al. [Nonzero boundary condition for the unsteady micropolar pipe flow: well-posedness and asymptotics, Appl. Math. Comput. 427 (2022), Paper No. 127184, 22] for the time-dependent flow of a micropolar fluid in a thin cylindrical pipe.

The paper is devoted to detailed investigation of rotational deformation modes at the notch tip during shock loading. Using hybrid discrete-continuum approach of Excitable Cellular Automata the series of numerical experiments were conducted to simulate deformation behavior of ductile steel in the vicinities of U-, I- and V-notches.

AbstractThe current study is based on the effects of microrotational dynamics, microinertial effects, and temperature changes on electroosmotic peristalsis in a tapered microchannel. This has been addressed by an analytical study of heat transfer in the setting of electroosmotic peristaltic flow involving a micropolar fluid, specifically considering a ...
