The recovery of wolf populations across Europe has reignited human–wildlife conflicts, particularly in countries such as Austria, where wolves have been absent for more than a century. Livestock depredation remains one of the primary sources of tension, and effective management requires a solid spatial basis for planning.

The rock ptarmigan Lagopus muta is an elusive species whose monitoring is hindered by its cryptic behavior and the difficulty in accessing its high‐elevation habitats. Although non‐invasive genetic sampling offers a promising alternative, its effectiveness can be constrained by DNA degradation and environmental conditions.

We estimated seasonal space use, cover selection, and resource selection; evaluated gene flow and potential genetic barriers; and assessed cause‐specific survival rates and reproduction of radiomarked gray foxes in Indiana, USA. Our results provide evidence that gray foxes in Indiana are an edge species with relatively large home ranges, relatively low

Our findings reveal that breeding phenology of the common lizard is shaped by strong thermal plasticity, body size effects, constant selection for earlier parturition, but low heritability. This suggests that phenological responses to climate change in this species, and likely in other squamates, will predominantly arise through plastic rather than ...
