Microscopic Muscle Image Enhancement
We propose a robust image enhancement algorithm dedicated for muscle fiber specimen images captured by optical microscopes. Blur or out of focus problems are prevalent in muscle images during the image acquisition stage. Traditional image deconvolution methods do not work since they assume the blur kernels are known and also produce ring artifacts.

ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is assessed by cell counting and cytomorphology from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and is used for treatment stratification worldwide. The ratio of “CNS2” patients in clinical trials ranges from 3% to 40%, with unclear prognostic significance ...

Trichomonas Vaginalis Segmentation in Microscope Images
Trichomoniasis is a common infectious disease with high incidence caused by the parasite Trichomonas vaginalis, increasing the risk of getting HIV in humans if left untreated. Automated detection of Trichomonas vaginalis from microscopic images can provide vital information for the diagnosis of trichomoniasis.

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Discriminative Segmentation of Microscopic Cellular Images [PDF]
Microscopic cellular images segmentation has become an important routine procedure in modern biological research, due to the rapid advancement of fluorescence probes and robotic microscopes in recent years. In this paper we advocate a discriminative learning approach for cellular image segmentation.
