Red Blood Cell Classification Based on Attention Residual Feature Pyramid Network
Clinically, red blood cell abnormalities are closely related to tumor diseases, red blood cell diseases, internal medicine, and other diseases. Red blood cell classification is the key to detecting red blood cell abnormalities. Traditional red blood cell

Detection of structural similarity for multimodal microscopic image registration
In this paper we propose a novel method to detect the structural similarity in registering color and confocal microscopic images. Our prior work [1] presented the basic idea of detecting the structural similarity of such images, which utilizes the ...

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Separating Particulate Matter From a Single Microscopic Image
© 2020 IEEE.Particulate matter (PM) is the blend of various solid and liquid particles suspended in atmosphere. These submicron particles are imperceptible for usual hand-held camera photography, but become a great obstacle in microscopic imaging.

Recently, it has been described that programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) overexpressing melanoma cells are highly aggressive. However, until now it has not been defined which factors lead to the generation of PD-1 overexpressing subpopulations.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
