Controls on Microscopic Distribution and Flow Characteristics of Remaining Oil in Tight Sandstone Reservoirs: Chang 7 Reservoirs, Yanchang Formation, Ordos Basin

open access: yesMinerals
The Chang 7 shale oil reservoirs of the Yanchang Formation in the Heishui Area of the Ordos Basin display typical tight sandstone characteristics, marked by complex microscopic pore structures and limited flow capacity, which severely constrain efficient development.

Atomized Oxidative Polymerization as a 3D Printing Platform for Binder‐Free, Bulk Conductive Polymer Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Co‐delivery of electrosprayed EDOT and oxidant enables bulk oxidative polymerization during layer‐by‐layer fabrication, creating stable, highly conductive 3D PEDOT structures. This Atomized Oxidative Polymerization (AOP) overcomes the surface deposition‐only and matrix‐limited conductivity of conventional Vapor Phase Polymerization (VPP) and PEDOT:PSS ...

Microscopic, elemental analysis, total organic carbon and Rock-Eval pyrolysis at DSDP Holes 64-479 and 64-480

open access: yes, 1982
Geochemical analyses were carried out on Quaternary sediments from cores at Sites 479 and 480. The amount of organic matter indicates that these sediments have good to very good source-rock potential.

Surprising Water Slipping Performance on Highly Hydrophilic PEG‐Derived Monolayer‐Covered Surfaces: Preparation, Mechanism, and Application

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Highly hydrophilic surfaces (water contact angle, ≈17.7°) exhibiting surprising water slipping performance (sliding angle, ≈7.3°) are successfully prepared via simple chemisorption of polyethylene glycol (PEG) organosilane and subsequent alkali‐treatment.

Coagulative Granular Hydrogels with an Enzyme Catalyzed Fibrin Network for Endogenous Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Coagulative granular hydrogels are composed of packed thrombin‐functionalized microgels that catalyze the conversion of fibrinogen into a secondary fibrin network, filling the interstitial voids. This bio‐inspired approach stabilizes the biomaterial to match the robustness of bulk hydrogels without compromising injectability, mimicking the initial ...

Research for Flow Behavior of Heavy Oil by N2 Foam-Assisted Steam (NFAS) Flooding: Microscopic Displacement Experiment Study

open access: yes
Steam flooding is easily induced to transverse flow, with a limited swept area and low displacement efficiency. Therefore, chemical agents have been used to assist in steam flooding for heavy oil extraction.

Use of magnetic nanoparticles to enhance biodesulfurization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Biodesulfurization (BDS) is an alternative to hydrodesulfurization (HDS) as a method to remove sulfur from crude oil. Dibenzothiophene (DBT) was chosen as a model compound for the forms of thiophenic sulfur found in fossil fuels; up to 70% of the sulfur ...

Pore-Throat Differences Across Flow Units in Low-Permeability Sandstone Reservoirs: Impact on Movable Fluid Saturation in the Triassic Chang 6 Reservoir, Jiyuan Oilfield, Ordos Basin, China

open access: yesGeofluids
Low-permeability sandstone reservoirs, as a subset of unconventional oil and gas reservoirs, have gained significant attention due to their distinct exploration and development potential. These reservoirs exhibit intricate heterogeneity, variable seepage

Mechanical and Electrical Phenotype of hiPSC‐Cardiomyocytes on Fibronectin‐Based Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce fibronectin‐based PEG hydrogels with controlled rigidity to enable the culture of iPSC‐derived cardiomyocytes. These substrates offer an alternative to the current culture of these cells on fibronectin‐coated glass, providing enhanced structural and functional behavior. The system provides a more physiologically relevant platform to assess

Aqueous Two‐Phase Bioinks for Discrete Packing and Compartmentalization of 3D Bioprinted Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Aqueous two‐phase systems (ATPS) enable the formation of biomimetic interfaces crucial for tissue engineering. However, clinical translation remains limited by the challenge of precisely controlling cellular compartmentalization. Here, we developed ATPS biomaterial inks for 3D bioprinting allowing tuneable droplet formation via NaCl modulation.
