Bromine indirubin FLIM/PLIM sensors to measure oxygen in normoxic and hypoxic PDT conditions
Background: The induction of phototoxicity during photodynamic therapy (PDT) is dependent on oxygen availability. For this reason, the development of sensors to measure oxygen and oxygen consumption is extremely important.

Intratumoral Cancer Cell Intravasation Can Occur Independent of Invasion into the Adjacent Stroma
Summary: Intravasation, active entry of cancer cells into the circulation, is often considered to be a relatively late event in tumor development occurring after stromal invasion. Here, we provide evidence that intravasation can be initiated early during

Biological confocal microscopy
Abstract The first practical use of confocal optics was by Hiroto Naora1, 1 , 2 , who built a device based upon a theoretical concept devised by his supervisor Z. Koana 3 , over 50 years ago. His system did not form images, but was used in high resolution micro-spectrophotometry.

Reflectance confocal microscopy of mammary Paget disease
Mammary Paget disease is the intraepidermal adenocarcinoma of the nipple area which is characterized usually by a well-demarcated eczematous plaque. Reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM), is an in vivo noninvasive diagnostic tool with a high-resolution ...

A temperature-controlled stage for laser scanning confocal microscopy and case studies in chemistry of materials [PDF]
If confocal microscopy is an ubiquitous tool in life science, its applications in chemistry and materials science are still, in comparison, very limited. Of particular interest in these domains is the use of confocal microscopy to investigate temperature-dependent phenomena such as self-assembly, diffusio- or thermophoresis, or crystal growth.

Confocal microscopy and exfoliative cytology
Early detection of potentially malignant lesions and invasive squamous-cell carcinoma in the oral cavity could be greatly improved through techniques that permit visualization of subtle cellular changes indicative of the neoplastic transformation process. One such technique is confocal microscopy. Combining rapidity with reliability, an innovative idea

Integrating selective RNA shortcut, targeted gene isolation, and micro‐arrayed nanoimaging, the NanoPick‐array platform excels in detecting severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) at just 60 copies µL−1 and accurately differentiating variants at the single‐nucleotide level. It ensures 100% accuracy for samples with cycle threshold (

Transarterial Chemoembolization (TACE) may aggravate liver fibrosis. In this study, a novel oral targeting nanoemulsion is fabricated to enhance the therapeutic effect of antifibrotic drug‐pirfenidone (PFD) on fibrosis after TACE. Studies have shown that PFD nanoemulsion can enhance the oral liver targeting effect of PFD, and effectively improve the ...
