Zein‐Based Adhesives: Sustainable Extraction and Application in Bioadhesive Technologies
Zein is extracted from corn gluten meal using a simple and scalable process with high yield (~90%). The resulting protein is applied in bioadhesives modified with Ca2+ and Fe3+ ions, exhibiting substrate‐dependent adhesion. The findings demonstrate competitive bonding performance and highlight the role of ionic interactions in tuning adhesion ...

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Inner structure of ZnO microspheres fabricated via laser ablation in superfluid helium
ZnO microspheres fabricated via laser ablation in superfluid helium were found to have bubble-like voids. Even a microsphere demonstrating clear whispering gallery mode resonances in the luminescence had voids.

Substrate Stress Relaxation Regulates Cell‐Mediated Assembly of Extracellular Matrix
Silicone‐based viscoelastic substrates with tunable stress relaxation reveal how matrix mechanics regulates cellular mechanosensing and cell‐mediated matrix remodelling in the stiff regime. High stress relaxation promotes assembly of fibronectin fibril‐like structures, increased nuclear localization of YAP and formation of β1 integrin‐enriched ...

Fundamental thermal fluctuations in microspheres [PDF]
We present a theoretical analysis and the results of measurements of thermorefractive noise in microcavities. These measurements may be considered direct observations of fundamental fluctuations of temperature in solid media.

Computed tomography and histopathological findings after embolization with inherently radiopaque 40μm-microspheres, standard 40μm-microspheres and iodized oil in a porcine liver model. [PDF]
PURPOSE:The present study compared standard computed tomography (CT) and histopathological findings after endovascular embolization using a prototype of inherently radiopaque 40μm-microspheres with both standard 40μm-microspheres and iodized oil in a ...
