Patch Antennas and Microstrip Lines

open access: yes, 2010
Microstrip patch antennas have problems of low bandwidths. The aim of this chapter is to show various ways to overcome this problem by using various matching techniques for numerous patch antenna array schemes. Various approaches are used for estimating the figures of merit such as VWSR and the S11 parameter of such antennas.

A Comprehensive Computational Design for Microstrip Passive and Active Linear Circuits

open access: yesInternational Islamic University Malaysia Engineering Journal, 2012
In this paper, a complete program called HHSS2 is introduced which is a user-oriented program capable of designing linear active and passive microstrip circuits such as amplifiers, oscillators, mixers, lowpass filters, and couplers.

Differential and Single-Ended Microstrip Lines Loaded with Slotted Magnetic-LC Resonators

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2013
This paper is focused on magnetic-LC (MLC) resonators, namely, slotted resonators that can be considered the complementary counterparts of the so-called electric-LC (ELC) resonators. Both resonators exhibit two symmetry planes (i.e., they are bisymmetric)

Analytical and experimental procedures for determining propagation characteristics of millimeter-wave gallium arsenide microstrip lines [PDF]

open access: yes
In this report, a thorough analytical procedure is developed for evaluating the frequency-dependent loss characteristics and effective permittivity of microstrip lines. The technique is based on the measured reflection coefficient of microstrip resonator

Hybrid Microstrip/Slotline Ultra-Wideband Bandpass Filter with a Controllable Notch Band

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2017
An ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter (BPF) with a controllable notch band is presented by using hybrid microstrip/slotline structure. Firstly, a slotline resonator with symmetrically loaded stubs is fed by two microstrip lines to produce a UWB ...

Proximity-coupled feed patch antenna array for 79 GHz automotive radar

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Autonomous driving is becoming a reality-but low-cost 79 GHz radar antenna technology is still imperfect. Here, the authors propose a kind of proximity-coupled feed patch antenna array.

Silicon-based on-chip four-channel phased-array radar transmitter with ferroelectric thin film at 100 GHz

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
A silicon-based phased-array transmitter working at 100 GHz is proposed in this study. Planar array ferroelectric film phase shifters (FPSs) are realised with patch antennas, DC bias lines, microstrip lines and power dividers on a monolithic silicon ...
