Optimization of Tapered Bragg Reflectors in Microstrip Technology
International Journal of Infrared and Millimeter Waves, 2000The frequency responses of tapered Bragg reflectors made by etching one row of holes on the ground plane of a microstrip line are analyzed, comparing different windows and their effects on the rejection level, the bandwidth, the side lobe level and the abruptness of the main stop band.

Narrow-band HTS microstrip combiner technology
IEEE Transactions on Appiled Superconductivity, 1997Contiguous 7-pole filters centred at 7.97 and 8.00 GHz have been made by co-evaporation of YBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub x/ thin films on MgO substrates. The 0.3% bandwidth filters make stringent demands on the design and fabrication processes. Good control of the centre frequency and bandwidth, sharp cut-offs and high linearity have been achieved.

Emerging trends in Microstrip Antenna Technology
2007 IEEE Applied Electromagnetics Conference (AEMC), 2007This paper presents recent trends in microstrip antenna technology highlighting the bandwidth improvements, reflectarray antennas, reconfigurable antennas, electromagnetic band gap structures, frequency selective surfaces and genetic algorithm based antenna designs. Antennas developed at SAMEER, based on theses concepts are included along with measured

Real-time spectrum analysis in microstrip technology
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2003We report on a time-domain analog in microwave lines to the spatial Fraunhofer (far-field) diffraction in paraxial conditions. Microstrip lines are used to design filtering configurations acting as spectrum analyzers. They are based on linearly chirped distributed Bragg coupling between the fundamental microstrip mode and the same but ...

Real-Time Spectrum Analysis in Microstrip Technology
31st European Microwave Conference, 2001, 2001We report on a time-domain analog to the spatial far-field Fraunhofer diffraction using microstrip lines with chirped distributed Bragg coupling between the fundamental microstrip mode and the same but counter-propagating mode. The chirping of the microstrip impedance yields to linear group delays within the reflected bandwidth.

Synthesis and implementation of quadruplet filter with microstrip technology
Proceedings of 2012 9th International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences & Technology (IBCAST), 2012Modern wireless communication transceiver applications often pose stringent out-of-band rejection requirements which necessitate steep and sharp narrow band rejection profile for microwave filters. The use of transmission zero inserted filters are very common to achieve such a response type.

A wide-band microstrip-to-microstrip multi-layered via transition using LTCC technology
2009 IEEE Electrical Design of Advanced Packaging & Systems Symposium (EDAPS), 2009A wide-band microstrip-to-microstrip via transition used for connecting integrated circuits and antenna array in a multi-layered low-temperature co-fired ceramic substrate is investigated in this paper. The via transition is decomposed into external and internal segments to facilitate the design. The equivalent impedance of internal segment, consisting

Ultra Wideband Vias and Power Dividers in Microstrip-Slot Technology
2007 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference, 2007The design of ultra-wideband vias and power dividers in microstrip-slot technology is presented. The devices employ two substrates supported by a common ground plane. Their design is accomplished with the use of commercially available full EM analysis and design software. Low insertion loss and good return loss performances over an ultra wide frequency

Double-sided “radiation resistant” microstrip detectors: Technology and results
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 1996Abstract The paper describes the technology used for the fabrication of a set of prototypes of microstrip silicon detectors matching the requirements of the CMS inner tracking system. The detectors are single and double-sided devices featuring integrated AC coupling on both sides.
