Mass-fabrication of air-core microstructured polymer optical fiber

2008 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2008
An air-core, 252 holes cladding, 51% air-occupied fraction PMMA-based MPOF as successfully fabricated by drawing an extruded 253 holes preform. With the extrusion technique, air-core MPOF preform could be produced on a large scale.

High birefringent microstructured polymer optical fiber with frozen stresses

12th Conference on Integrated Optics: Sensors, Sensing Structures, and Methods, 2017
We report on fabrication of a new type high birefringent microstructured polymer fiber with a PMMA stress applied element in the core. An inner part of preform consists regular three rings of holes, made by drilling method. Inside the microstructure we drilled an additional hole, where a special type – strongly stressed PMMA rod was placed.

Microstructured Polymer Optical Fiber Biosensors for Detection of DNA and Antibodies

Optical Fiber Sensors, 2006
We demonstrate selective detection of fluorescently labeled single stranded DNA molecules from aqueous solutions using a Microstructured Polymer Optical Fiber. Furthermore, we present results on indirect label-free detection of antibodies by labeling a probe molecule.
