Real‐Time and Site‐Specific Perturbation of Dynamic Subcellular Compartments Using Femtosecond Pulses

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces femtosecond real‐time precision opto‐control (fs‐RPOC), a technology enabling automated, chemically selective subcellular perturbation with precisely controlled laser dosage confined to designated targets. Fs‐RPOC achieves high spatial precision suitable for 3D sub‐organelle microsurgery.

Emerging trends in the management of non‐obstructive azoospermia

open access: yesUroPrecision, EarlyView.
Abstract Ten percent of infertile males have azoospermia, classified into obstructive and nonobstructive types, which require specific medical or surgical treatments. In nonobstructive azoospermia, advancements in microsurgery allow for effective sperm retrieval in about half of cases.

Nonlinear photoacoustic wavefront shaping (PAWS) for single speckle-grain optical focusing in scattering media [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
Non-invasively focusing light into strongly scattering media, such as biological tissue, is highly desirable but challenging. Recently, wavefront shaping technologies guided by ultrasonic encoding or photoacoustic sensing have been developed to address this limitation.

A systematic review comparing the functional changes and complications of DIEP and TRAM flaps in patients receiving breast reconstruction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Aim: Treatment for breast cancer may involve unilateral or bilateral mastectomy, with subsequent breast reconstruction surgery. Using autologous tissue flaps during reconstructive surgery is increasingly popular.

The cost of saving lives: Complications arising from prehospital tourniquet application

open access: yesAcademic Emergency Medicine, Volume 32, Issue 5, Page 532-541, May 2025.
Abstract Background Uncontrolled hemorrhage is a leading cause of preventable death in trauma. Tourniquets (TQs) are commonly used to control bleeding in the prehospital setting, although their application is associated with risks. Therefore, this study aimed to identify complications arising from TQ use and to examine contributing risk factors ...

Replantation following complete penile amputation: Summary of perioperative experience and treatment strategies

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction To date, there are only case reports of penile amputation, a rare urological emergency with a low‐treatment successful rate, and there are still no advanced, detailed surgical or perioperative treatment plans. Effective treatments for these rare diseases are urgently needed.

Reliability of suprapubic pedicled phalloplasty to address genital gender‐affirming surgery in transgender men: A single‐center cohort analysis

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Over the years, numerous techniques have been used to address genital gender‐affirming surgery (GGAS) in transgender men. Among the proposed surgical options to address TPC in transgender men, suprapubic pedicled phalloplasty (SPP) has rarely been considered in the current scientific literature. Objectives The aim of the study is to
