The Advantaged Salt Inducible Suaeda salsa SsNRT2.5 and Its Promoter Significantly Enhance Nitrate Transport Efficiency and Salt Tolerance in Transgenic Arabidopsis and Rice

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Efficient nitrogen (N) uptake is critical for crop yield, but soil salinization inhibits plant nitrogen acquisition. In this study, the nitrate (NO3−) transporter gene SsNRT2.5 and its promoter from the halophyte Suaeda salsa was investigated to elucidate the functional role in NO3− transport under salinity and low NO3−–N conditions.

Greater Resistance to Drought‐Induced Embolism Is Linked to Higher Yield Maintenance in Soybean

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT With increasing drought events worldwide, crop breeding must focus on drought resistance to maintain crop yields. To ensure a high level of gas exchange and growth, plants need to maintain the integrity of their vascular system under drought conditions. While the impact of drought‐induced vascular damage on tree species is well‐documented, its

Marginal Misfit Assessment in Common Restorative Materials for Cement‐Retained Fixed Implant Prostheses: An In Vitro Comparative Study

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dental Research, Volume 12, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives To assess the vertical discrepancy at the abutment–crown interface (ACI) for cement‐retained crowns fabricated from three commonly used restorative materials across implants featuring external and internal connections. Materials and Methods A total of 30 implants with external (EC) and internal (IC) connections were included in this

Bridging wheat kernel microstructure and flour rheology occurring during wheat germination

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 106, Issue 6, Page 3451-3461, April 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND Wheat germination increases α‐amylase activity, leading to significant biochemical and structural changes that influence flour rheological properties. Understanding the correlation between internal kernel structure and flour rheology is essential for predicting processing performance and optimizing the use of germinated wheat in ...

Local and Global relations between the number of contacts and density in monodisperse sphere packs

open access: yes, 2006
The topological structure resulting from the network of contacts between grains (\emph{contact network}) is studied for large samples of monosized spheres with densities (fraction of volume occupied by the spheres) ranging from 0.59 to 0.64.

Mechanical Performance Under Compressive Load of Carboxylated Nitrile Rubber and Kraft Lignin Composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 47, Issue 5, Page 3983-3993, 10 March 2026.
Lignin dispersion in carboxylated nitrile rubber (XNBR) is enhanced at 7% carboxylic acid, significantly improving the composite's compressive mechanical performance for sealing applications. ABSTRACT Lignin is a promising biobased material that enhances the sustainability of rubber composites as a reinforcing filler.

Polydopamine Coating in Trabecular Bone‐Like Scaffolds With Strontium‐Substituted Nanohydroxyapatite for Bone Tissue Engineering

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 9, March 5, 2026.
PLA and strontium‐substituted hydroxyapatite filaments were used in 3D printing to fabricate a trabecular‐inspired scaffold. The scaffold was functionalized with a polydopamine coating. Characterization revealed enhanced surface properties and mechanical performance, supporting its potential application in bone tissue engineering.
