Theory of microtomy artefacts in arthropod cuticle
Tissue and Cell, 1986Arthropod cuticles observed in section generally present alternating clear and dark bands. These have often been interpreted in terms of superimposed layers of different structure or composition. It has been shown, however that this material is homogeneous, and is formed by a twisted arrangement of microfibrils. The dense bands correspond actually to a

Cryostat Microtomy of Lung Tissue in an Expanded State
Stain Technology, 1975A technique is reported for cryostat sectioning of lung tissue in an expanded state for use in viral immunofluorescence studies. A 1:2 mixture of O.C.T. embedding compound and phosphate-buffered saline is injected intratracheally into fresh lung tissue. The lung tissue is frozen in liquid nitrogen and sectioned with a cryostat.

Tissue Microtomy: Principle and Procedure
2018This chapter presents the technique of tissue sectioning for histopathological examination. The different types of microtomes are used for sectioning of the tissue, and among those the rotary microtome is most commonly used in laboratory. This is a heavy and stable microtome, and good-quality 2–3-μm-thin section is possible by it. The chapter discusses
