STAT3 decoy decreases microvessel density in vivo by acting directly on the endothelial cells.

open access: yes, 2014
Ploy-L-lactic acid scaffolds were seeded with HUVECs and then implanted on the flank of nude athymic mice. The mice were the treated with either the STAT3 decoy oligonucleotide or the STAT3 mutant control via peri-scaffold injection for 15 days.

Deep Learning Network‐Tailored Microenvironment Matching of 4D Bioprinting Bioactive Scaffolds for Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A DLN dataset was built to analyze MABS composition versus in vitro/in vivo osteogenesis and angiogenesis. An MLP neural network, taking BG morphological parameters as input, extracts bioactive features from these datasets. A rabbit tibial defect model then validates 4D‐printed MABS for adaptability and bone regeneration in critical defects.

Survivin expression, HPV positivity and microvessel density in oropharyngeal carcinomas and relationship with survival time

open access: yes, 2016
Introduction: Among head and neck cancers, those of the oral cavity and oropharynx are the second most prevalent following the larynx. This study aimed to research immunohistochemical expression of survivin, HPV positivity and microvessel density in ...

Retinal Vessel Segmentation: A Comprehensive Review From Classical Methods to Deep Learning Advances (1982–2025)

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Four decades of retinal vessel segmentation research (1982–2025) are synthesized, spanning classical image processing, machine learning, and deep learning paradigms. A meta‐analysis of 428 studies establishes a unified taxonomy and highlights performance trends, generalization capabilities, and clinical relevance.

Gut–Brain Axis Modulation by Short‐Chain Fatty Acids Exerts Disease‐Modifying Effects in a Murine Model of Drug‐Resistant Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Drug‐resistant epilepsy (DRE) remains a clinical challenge, as therapies modifying disease trajectory are lacking. Increasing evidence implicates gut microbiota dysbiosis in epilepsy pathophysiology, with short‐chain fatty acids (SCFAs) emerging as key microbial metabolites with neuroprotective and anti‐inflammatory properties.

DHX32 Promotes Angiogenesis in Colorectal Cancer Through Augmenting β-catenin Signaling to Induce Expression of VEGFA

open access: yesEBioMedicine, 2017
We previously reported that overexpression of DHX32 contributes to the growth and metastasis of colorectal cancer (CRC). However, the underlying mechanism is not largely characterized. Herein, we reported that DHX32 in CRC cells upregulated expression of

Maspin and c-erbB-2 expression in correlation with microvessel density in invasive ductal breast cancer

open access: yesFolia Histochemica et Cytobiologica, 2011
Maspin is a unique member of the serpin family involved in regulation of cell migration, apoptosis and angiogenesis in breast and prostate cancers. In this study maspin expression in comparison with c-erbB-2 (HER2/neu) oncogene expression and microvessel
