Microwave Transmission Circuits Technique of Microwave Measurements Microwave Duplexers Crystal Rectifiers Microwave Mixers Microwave Receivers

Nature, 1948
AS readers of these columns will be aware, workers in the Radiation Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are producing a series of books on microwave techniques which, when complete, will contain twenty-eight volumes, one of which is to be an index of the whole series.

Microwave sterilization

The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1985
This study has shown that representative fungi, viruses, and aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, including spore formers, can easily be killed in a conventional microwave oven with proper modifications. Metal instruments, including air turbine handpieces and burs, and acrylic dentures can be sterilized in short periods.

The Microwave-Drill

IEEE Conference Record - Abstracts. 2002 IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science (Cat. No.02CH37340), 2002
We present a drilling method that is based on the phenomenon of local hot spot generation by near-field microwave radiation. The microwave drill is implemented by a coaxial near-field radiator fed by a conventional microwave source. The near-field radiator induces the microwave energy into a small volume in the drilled material under its surface, and a

Combined microwave therapy

Medical Journal of Australia, 1978
Fifty-two cases of advanced head and neck cancer were treated by 434-MHz radiowave hyperthermia which was combined with cobalt radiotherapy and/or radioactive gold grain implant. Complete resolution of primary and secondary lesions occurred in 94% of cases, and the survival rate after three years was 54%.

Microwave Spectroscopy

Reviews of Modern Physics, 1948
The spectroscopist in the past has been a fortunate fellow. When he could no longer find something new to measure with his old spectrometer (or if he became bored with repeated use of the same old frequencies) he could always move on to a new place in the spectrum, provided of course that he could generate and detect radiation there.
