Tunable High‐Performance Metamaterial Filters Based on Novel SRR Architectures
Based on two novel SRR configurations and two independent SRR integration approaches, four tunable bandpass metamaterial filters were fabricated with an ultra‐thin ceramic substrate. Among them, SM‐2 achieves over 97% electromagnetic wave transmittance, with a minimal 1.15% deviation in its resonant frequency prediction, making them promising ...

Stress‐to‐Light Conversion in an Earth‐Abundant Oxide Semiconductor
Stress‐to‐light conversion in solids represents a unique photonic functionality, yet it has never been realized in a chemically simple and sustainable material. Here, we show that sustainable semiconductor ZnO exhibits strong near‐infrared (NIR) luminescence under elastic stress when defect‐engineered to stabilize the p‐type state.

Fluorescence Tuning of Carbon Dots from Red to Blue via UV‐Induced Photochemical Etching
A UV‐driven photochemical process enables continuous color evolution of carbon dots from red to blue using a single irradiation parameter. Progressive photoetching restructures graphitic domains and surface states, allowing full visible‐spectrum emission control.

Formation of exfoliated graphite under microwave irradiation
The pore structure inside the worm-like particles of exfoliated graphite prepared by microwave irradiation was studied by using image processing. The pore parameters, cross-sectional area and lengths of major and minor axes which were determined from ...

Defect‐configurational origins of the asymmetric apparent electrostrain are revealed in different piezoelectric ceramics via atomic‐scale visualization of defect configurations. Migration of oxygen vacancies leads to the electrobending effect in N2‐sintered BaTiO3, while defect dipoles in Ba0.99TiO2.99 generate true asymmetric electrostrain without ...

The use of microwave irradiation for immunohistochemistry
We developed a rapid immunohistochernical method using a microwave oven in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections from normal and pathological tissues. The strongest immunoreactivity was obtained for actin, Ca 125, CEA, pan-cytokeratin, chromogranin A, EMA, GFAP, thyroglobulin, kappa and lambda chains. In control

Quantum Photothermal Self‐Monitoring Fiber Probes for In Vivo Photothermal Therapy
A miniaturized quantum photothermal fiber probe based on a metal/polymer/glass composite optoelectronic fiber that simultaneously guides lightwave and microwave was developed for the first time. The probe achieves enhanced photothermal conversion (13°C/mW, 25°C–120°C range) while providing real‐time self‐monitoring with 0.2°C thermal resolution at the ...
