A microwave reactor for characterization of pyrolyzed biomass
Bioresource Technology, 2012A microwave reactor (MWR) was designed to investigate microwave-induced pyrolysis of biomass. Condensation of tars on the quartz reactor and the pipelines was prevented by an electric heating device, and a temperature control function allowed determination of product characteristics at constant temperatures.

A LTCC microwave-microfluidic reactor
2016 21st International Conference on Microwave, Radar and Wireless Communications (MIKON), 2016This paper describes a prototype of a LTCC microwave-microfluidic reactor, which was built to test a possibility of accelerating chemical reactions. The authors put their focus on conditions that must be met to assure reliable assessment of power that is delivered to the reactor, and which is used to stimulate a chemical reaction.

Emulsion polymerization in a microwave reactor
Polymer, 1998Interest continues to grow concerning the application of microwave heating in chemical processes. This study shows that polymerization reactions such as emulsion polymerization in a polar solvent can be carried out rapidly and conveniently using microwave heating in glass reactors.

The distribution of reaction products was found to depend on the reactor pressure and flow‐rate. By accounting for all reaction products (solid, liquid and gas) an overall mass balance was obtained.
