Microwave Wireless Power Transfer for Mid-Air UAV Charging Using a Distributed Tiled Rectenna Architecture in 5G-Enabled Aerial Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access
Mid-air charging is a key enabler for persistent uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) operation in 5G-enabled aerial networks, but practical microwave wireless power transfer (WPT) is constrained by how the receive rectenna can be integrated on small multi ...

Ultrahigh‐Order Harmonic Mode‐Locked Optoelectronic Oscillator

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This article demonstrates a record‐breaking microwave frequency comb generator using an ultrahigh‐harmonic‐order mode‐locked optoelectronic oscillator. By integrating dual recirculating loops into a low‐coherence system, the researchers achieved a harmonic order of 956 with superior noise suppression.

Focusing Microwave Radiation for Long-Distance Wireless Power Transfer in Space

open access: yesIEEE Microwave Magazine
Radiative wireless power transfer (WPT) uses freely propagating electromagnetic (EM) radiation for long-distance energy distribution. Microwaves, which are not strongly affected by the atmosphere [1], can be focused into beams for higher efficiencies. Thus, the need for cables and batteries can be reduced, minimizing costs and enabling power supply to ...

Frozen Differential Scattering in Reconfigurable Complex Media

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A localized perturbation universally results in a rank‐one update of the scattering matrix of any complex medium. The resulting differential output wavefront is “frozen”: its spatial pattern is fixed (agnostic to the input wavefront). Experiments with a programmable‐metasurface‐parametrized wireless link validate frozen differential scattering and ...

Optical‐to‐Microcomb Stability Transfer for Ultrastable Timing and Microwave/Millimeter‐Wave Generation

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates a high‐fidelity stability transfer from an optical reference to a high‐repetition‐rate microcomb using a mode‐locked laser bridge. By employing electro‐optic sampling timing detection, femtosecond‐level synchronization and 10−18‐level fractional frequency stability are achieved.

Boron‐10 carriers and their applications in boron neutron capture therapy

open access: yesPrecision Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
Summary of different types of boron drugs. Abstract Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) has emerged as a promising therapeutic modality in cancer treatment, demonstrating the ability to selectively eliminate cancer cells through the 10B(n,α)7Li nuclear reaction with minimal side effects on normal tissues.

Enhancing Charge Transport and Extraction in Ta3N5 Photoanodes Via Ti Doping and TiN Contact Layers

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Ta3N5${\rm Ta}_3{\rm N}_{5}$ is a promising photoanode for solar water splitting but suffers from poor charge transport and interfacial losses. We combine Ti compensation doping with ultrathin TiN back‐contact interlayers to suppress bulk recombination, enhance carrier mobility and lifetime, and enable efficient carrier extraction, yielding ...

Single Cu Atom Sites on Co3O4 Activate Interfacial Oxygen for Enhanced Reactivity and Selective Gas Sensing at Low Temperature

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Atomically dispersed Cu sites on Co3O4 nanoparticles establish well‐defined Cu–O–Co interfacial linkages that promote lattice oxygen activation at markedly reduced temperatures. This structural and electronic modulation yields over twenty‐fold higher low‐temperature formaldehyde sensing responses than CuO nanoparticle analogues, enabling selective and ...
