Stress relaxation in the presence of sudden strain bursts: Methodology and stress relaxation data of microcast aluminium microwires

open access: yesData in Brief, 2018
This data article presents a methodology and the corresponding code developed to perform and process stress relaxation tests where samples display superimposed (i) classical, continuous logarithmic relaxation together with (ii) sudden displacements ...

Chronic sleep deprivation promotes drug‐resistant epilepsy via the BMAL1‐mTOR‐P‐gp axis

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, Volume 11, Issue 3, Page 1017-1027, June 2026.
Abstract Objective The interplay between chronic sleep deprivation and drug‐resistant epilepsy (DRE) has gained increasing attention. Brain and muscle Arnt‐like protein 1 (BMAL1), which is implicated in sleep disturbance, has an unclear role in DRE. We aimed to investigate the role of BMAL1 in sleep deprivation‐induced DRE. Methods A pentylenetetrazole

Giant Piezoresistance Effects in Silicon Nanowires and Microwires

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2010
The giant piezoresistance (PZR) previously reported in silicon nanowires is experimentally investigated in a large number of surface depleted silicon nano- and micro-structures. The resistance is shown to vary strongly with time due to electron and hole trapping at the sample surfaces.

An Evaluation of A15 Nb3Al Superconducting Thin Films For Application in Quantum Circuits

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT A15 superconductors are distinguished by their high critical temperatures, magnetic fields, and current‐carrying capabilities. Among them, Nb3Al is of particular interest for superconducting quantum circuits as a means to extend device operating temperatures, provided that its electrodynamic properties are well understood.

Controlled electrochemical growth of silver microwires

open access: yes, 2005
The cathodic deposition of silver whiskers as microwires in the electrochemical cell Ag/AgBr/Ag has been investigated. From growth experiments observed with an optical microscope, we conclude that the growth process occurs exclusively at the interface of

Magnetic properties and giant magnetoimpedance in amorphous and nanocrystalline microwires [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We studied magnetic properties and GMI effect of Finemet-type FeCuNbSiB microwires. We observed that GMI effect and magnetic softness of microwires produced by the Taylor-Ulitovski technique, can be tailored by either controlling magnetoelastic ...
