Retrieval of phase relation and emission profile of quantum cascade laser frequency combs
The major development recently undergone by quantum cascade lasers has effectively extended frequency comb emission to longer-wavelength spectral regions, i.e. the mid and far infrared.

Two‐Dimensional Reconfigurable Photodiode for In‐Sensor Color Filtering and Spectral Logic
By harnessing the photodoping of different aggregates, the device exhibits wavelength‐dependent volatile‐to‐nonvolatile photoresponses that can be reconfigured via bias modulation. This enables in‐sensor color filtering and spectral‐encrypted information processing, eliminating reliance on external optical filters or post‐processing algorithms ...

Modeling of
A numerical study of As2S3 Raman fiber lasers is carried out to show their potential for the entire coverage of the 3-4-μm spectral band. Experimental results are first obtained from such a laser operated under controlled conditions in order to ...

Dysprosium-doped ZBLAN fiber laser tunable from 2.8 {\mu}m to 3.4 {\mu}m, pumped at 1.7 {\mu}m
We demonstrate a mid-infrared dysprosium-doped fluoride fiber laser with a continuously tunable output range of 573 nm, pumped by a 1.7 {\mu}m Raman fiber laser. To the best of our knowledge, this represents the largest tuning range achieved to date from

This study investigates thermally CVD‐deposited AlN/TiAlN dual‐layer coatings over a Si substrate, focusing on the temperature‐dependent process‐structure relationship. Systematic characterization reveals that a dense AlN interlayer combined with an optimally deposited TiAlN top layer provides enhancement in mechanical strength, tribological stability,

Active mode locking of quantum cascade lasers in an external ring cavity
Compact, integrated mode-locked lasers can produce ultrashort pulses of light in the visible and near infrared, but are more difficult to achieve in the mid-infrared. Here, the authors demonstrate active mode locking of an external-cavity quantum cascade

Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Atmospheric studies and applications with infrared heterodyne detection techniques [PDF]
With the advent of stable, cw infrared lasers with moderate output power capabilities in the mid 1960's came the idea of using heterodyne detection, a mature radio frequency technique, in the infrared.

Optofluidic Raman Analysis and Capacity Recovery in Li‐ion Cells
Operando Raman spectroscopy is used to monitor the degradation of commercial Li‐ion cells. Using a microfluidic access port, small amounts of electrolyte are sampled into a hollow‐core optical fibre, where fibre‐enhanced Raman analysis reveals Li+ solvation changes and solvent evolution.
