Ostracods and lithofacies of the Middle/Upper Devonian boundary stratotype (Puech de la Suque, Montagne Noire, France)

open access: yesBulletin de la Société Géologique de France, 2007
Abstract This paper discusses ostracods and their environmental setting close to the Givetian/Frasnian boundary in the Puech de la Suque Global Stratotype Section and Point. The ostracod fauna belongs exclusively to the Eifelian mega-assemblage and is largely dominated by Podocopina instars.

Cosmic Dust Flux During the Quaternary: The Record of Large Scoriaceous and Unmelted Micrometeorites From the Transantarctic Mountains Collection

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract We estimate the cosmic dust flux to Earth through the study of rare micrometeorites that preserve part of their precursor features during atmospheric entry heating, namely unmelted and scoriaceous subtypes. Combining high‐precision mass balance measurements, X‐ray computed microtomography and scanning electron microscopy, we studied mass, size

A Rezi Rzt-1 fúrás felső-triász képződményeinek szervetlen geokémiai jellemzői (Kösseni Formáció, Keszthelyi-hegység): őskörnyezeti tanulmány | Inorganic geochemical characteristics of the Upper Triassic rocks from borehole Rezi Rzt–1 (Kössen Formation, Keszthely Mountains, Hungary): a palaeoenvironmental study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Tanulmányunkban a Dunántúli-középhegységből származó nori–rhaeti bitumenes márgák (Kösseni Formáció) szervetlen geokémiai adatait használtuk fel az üledékképződés őskörnyezeti viszonyainak jellemzésére.

About the structure of the Kama-Kinel trough system

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Геология и разведка, 2019
Kama-Kinel Trough System (KKTS) — the structure formed in the Frasnian of the Late Devonian in the vast territory of the Volga-Ural province, is distinguished by the Upper Devonian — Lower Carboniferous deposits.

Low Chemical Weathering Intensity, Enhanced Erosion, and Euxinic Conditions Along the Norwegian Margin During the Paleocene‐Eocene Thermal Maximum

open access: yesPaleoceanography and Paleoclimatology, Volume 41, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract The Paleocene–Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM; ∼55.9 Ma) was a rapid global warming event marked by intensified hydrological cycling, enhanced continental weathering, and widespread ocean deoxygenation. Although the extent of anoxic basins during the PETM is relatively well documented, the contribution of high‐latitude continental weathering to ...

Carboniferous basement rocks of northern Britain [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
The study of Carboniferous basement rocks of northern Britain has concentrated on the dominantly clastic rock succession which unconformably overlies the Lower Palaeozoic basement and occurs beneath the lowermost Carboniferous limestones in areas ...

Non‐Uniqueness, Symmetries and Invariance of Thermal History Modelling in Sedimentary Basins

open access: yesBasin Research, Volume 38, Issue 4, July–August 2026.
This paper approaches non‐unique inverse problems by generating a representative ensemble of all possible solutions using the concept of symmetry. In the context of basin modelling, a symmetry is any manipulation of a forward model's parameters (e.g., thermal history) that leaves the model output (e.g., downhole vitrinite reflectance) unchanged ...

New record of a Middle Devonian brachiopod fauna from the Northern Arabian Plate, Zap Anticline, Cukurca-Hakkari, Southeastern Turkey [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
International audienceBrachiopods recently collected from the Zap River Valley area (SE Turkey) allow to establish a Middle Devonian (upper Givetian) age for the upper middle part of the Yiginli Formation which was until now considered as Famennian on ...

The dental plate on bichir pectoral fins: A unique dermal skeletal element bearing individual odontodes with tooth‐like replacement

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 249, Issue 1, Page 127-140, July 2026.
Pectoral fins of bichirs encompass the so‐called dental plates – unique dermal skeletal elements with individual odontodes identical to the oral teeth. Abstract The dermal skeleton appeared early in vertebrate evolution in the form of mineralized skin denticles composed of tooth‐like units—odontodes.
