Diagenetic paragenesis of Swan Hills carbonates (Middle-Upper Devonian) in the Devonian Deep Basin of west-central Alberta

open access: yes, 1994
Petrographic analyses of Swan Hills carbonates (Middle-Upper Devonian) from the deeply buried subsurface (2500-4000 m) of west-central Alberta indicate that these carbonates underwent diagenesis in submarine and subsurface environments, without significant modifications from shallow, meteoric waters.

Paleozoic Tectonic Setting and Paleogeographic Evolution of the Qin‐Fang Region, Southern South China Block: Detrital Zircon U‐Pb Geochronological and Hf Isotopic Constraints

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2018
The thick Silurian siliciclastic sedimentary rocks in the Qin‐Fang region contrasting with their absence in surrounding regions have long been an enigma for the early Paleozoic geology of South China. Here we employ detrital zircon U‐Pb geochronology and

Lower Mississippian Lithostratigraphy, Northern Arkansas [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
Lower Mississippian lithostratigraphic units in northern Arkansas are (ascending order) the Bachelor, St. Joe, and Boone Formations. These formations disconformably overlie Middle Ordovician to Upper Devonian strata and are overlain disconformably by ...

Geochemistry and geochronology of the Paleozoic sedimentary rocks in the Shar Khutul area, Central Mongolia

open access: yesProceedings of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, 2018
The study area is located in the central part of Tsetserleg terrane in the southwestern margin of the Khangai-Khentey orogenic system. The paper presents new data on geochemistry and geochronology of sedimentary rocks from the Shar Khutul area, where the

Gradational development of slaty cleavage to schistosity -an example from the Iberian Pyrite Belt, Spain- [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The Iberian Pyrite Belt is an Upper Paleozoic succession which has been divided into the Phyllite-Quartzite Group, the Volcanic-Sliceous Complex and the Culm Group in ascending order from base to the top. The contacts among them are conformable.
