Outcome following occlusion of the middle cerebral artery
Acta Neurologica Scandinavica, 1991Outcome was studied prospectively in 28 consecutive patients with occlusion of the middle cerebral artery (MCA). They comprise a subgroup of 101 consecutive patients with TIA or stroke less than or equal to 75 years of age, admitted within 72 h after the stroke. Cerebral angiography and CT-scan were performed within 1-2 days of admission.

Occlusion and Reperfusion of the Middle Cerebral Artery
New England Journal of Medicine, 2007A 65-year-old woman with chronic atrial fibrillation was admitted for an elective exchange of an implanted defibrillator for idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy. To facilitate this procedure, warfarin was withheld for 5 days. Before the procedure was performed, acute-onset right hemiparesis and expressive dysphasia developed.

Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion by an Intraluminal Suture Method
2017Stroke represents the most common fatal neurological disease especially in highly developed countries. Even today, treatment options are very limited. The development of new therapeutic approaches replies, to a great extent, on experimental rodent models of focal cerebral ischemia.

Transient occlusion of the middle cerebral artery.
JAMA, 1965Four patients with arteriographically demonstrated occlusion of the main trunk of the middle cerebral artery were found, by subsequent arteriograms or postmortem examination, to have middle cerebral artery patency. Similar cases have been reported in the literature.

Middle cerebral artery occlusion increases cerebral capillary permeability
Neurological Research, 1993One hour after middle cerebral artery occlusion, the regional blood to brain transfer coefficient of alpha-aminoisobutyric acid was determined in eight barbiturate anaesthetized rats. The transfer coefficient (microliter/min-1/g-1) was significantly higher in the ischaemic cortex (10.6 +/- 2.3) than in the contralateral cortex (6.5 +/- 1.0).

Occlusion of the Middle Cerebral Artery in Rats
2008To mimic cerebral ischemia leading to stroke in man, many animal models have been made which occlude brain arteries, transiently or permanently. These models are aimed at studying the morphological changes and the pathophysiology of stroke, and at screening and testing new neuroprotective or thrombolytic drugs.

Rat Model of Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion
Stroke is the third-leading cause of death and the leading cause of acquired adult disability worldwide. Several ischemic stroke models are currently available. However, mimicking focal cerebral ischemia (FCI) is the most common. The formation of an embolic or thrombotic occlusion at or near the middle cerebral artery causes most events in FCI.openaire +2 more sources
[Traumatic middle cerebral artery occlusion].
No shinkei geka. Neurological surgery, 1994A 16-year-old boy developed motor aphasia and right hemiplegia after head trauma caused during Rugby football club activity. About 2 hours after trauma, these neurological deficits improved dramatically. CT scan on admission revealed no abnormal finding.
