T-Tube for Middle Ear Ventilation
Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1973A new silicone-rubber T-tube for the treatment of eustachian tube insufficiency is described that is suitable for serous otitis media and aeration following tympanoplasty. The extrusion rate in 40 ears was 2.5%.

Long‐Term Middle Ear Ventilation
The Laryngoscope, 1977Successful long‐term middle ear ventilation was established in 12 patients with chronic eustachian tube hypofunction that had failed to respond to repeated myringotomy and tympanotomy tube insertions by conventional techniques. The 12 patients (13 ears) had insertion of an untrimmed large flange “Per‐Lee” type tube through a posterior‐inferior ...

Assessment of Long-Term Middle Ear Ventilation
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1983Pathologic changes of the middle ear cavity are almost invariably caused by eustachian tube malfunctions which are either permanent, fluctuating or recurrent. The process may deteriorate from middle ear effusion to atelectasis of the middle ear, adhesive otitis, and can potentially end in cholesteatoma.

Middle ear ventilation in children with primary ciliary dyskinesia
International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, 2011Objective1) To review the otological presentation of children with primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) treated medically and surgically. 2) To compare the audiological outcomes and complications of surgical management to medical management in children with PCD.MethodA retrospective chart review was performed of all patients with PCD and OME presenting to ...

Middle Ear Ventilation in Chronic Otitis Media
Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1970The eustachian tube function was determined by the aspiration method in ears with dry chronic otitis media. It was shown that almost 80% of the ears had poor tubal function. The mastoid air cell size was determined in ears with dry chronic otitis media by planimetry on the x-ray picture. Almost all had a cell system size below the mean size of a normal

A Mathematical Model for the Middle Ear Ventilation
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2008The otitis media is one of the mostly existing illness for the children, therefore investigation of the human middle ear ventilation is an actual problem. In earlier investigations both experimental and theoretical approach one can find in ([l]–[3]). Here we give a new mathematical and computer model to simulate this ventilation process.

Normal middle ear ventilation: a new theory
Orvosi Hetilap, 2007Jelen ismereteink szerint normális középfülműködés esetén a középfülben folyamatosan csökken a nyomás (főként az O 2 -abszorpció miatt), amelyet az időnként megnyíló fülkürt egyenlít ki úgy, hogy a megnyíló fülkürtön keresztül levegő áramlik a középfülbe.

Ventilation scintigraphy of the middle ear.
Journal of nuclear medicine : official publication, Society of Nuclear Medicine, 1997In this study, an attempt was made to administer radioactive gas into the tympanic cavity to measure initial gas trappings as well as clearance from the middle ear to evaluate eustachian tube function.Twenty-eight patients were administered 50 MBq 133Xe gas.

Middle ear ventilation with the castelli membrane tube.
The Laryngoscope, 1981AbstractThis report evaluates the use of the Castelli type membrane tympanostomy tube in combination with adenoidectomy or adenotonsillectomy. One hundred and sixty two ears were studied.Children with mucoid or seromucoid fluid only were included. The ears were unprotected during swimming, bathing, etc.

Middle Ear Ventilation after Acute Otitis media
ORL, 2010The investigation includes 43 children (82 ears) with acute otitis media who were treated with paracentesis and antibiotics. The middle ear pressure was measured 7 days, 14 days, 1 month, and 2 months after the otitis. A follow-up examination was performed 4–12 months after the otitis.
