ABSTRACT Objective Sleep spindles are an electrophysiological fingerprint of the sleeping human brain. They can be described in terms of duration, frequency, amplitude, and density, and vary widely according to age and sex. Spindles play a role in sleep and wake functions and are altered in several neurological and psychiatric disorders.

The Spectrum and Dips of RE 0751+14: A joint evaluation of ROSAT and ASCA Archival Data [PDF]
Using archival ASCA and ROSAT observations of RE 0751+14, X-ray energy spectra, pulse profiles and the results of pulse timing analysis are presented. The energy spectra are well-fitted by a blackbody model at low energy and a Raymond-Smith model at high energy, together with a partial covering absorber.

A 14‐Year Study of Serum Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein and Total Tau in Premanifest Huntington's
ABSTRACT There is a pressing need for blood biomarkers that can identify Huntington's disease (HD) gene carriers' proximity to manifest disease. We previously examined serial serum neurofilament light (NfL) concentrations in 21 premanifest HD gene carriers and 14 controls over 14 years, finding that NfL demonstrates high prognostic value and distinct ...

Randomized Principal Component Analysis for Hyperspectral Image Classification [PDF]
The high-dimensional feature space of the hyperspectral imagery poses major challenges to the processing and analysis of the hyperspectral data sets. In such a case, dimensionality reduction is necessary to decrease the computational complexity. The random projections open up new ways of dimensionality reduction, especially for large data sets. In this

Optical observations of Be/X-ray transient system KS 1947+300 [PDF]
ROTSE-IIId observations of the Be/X-ray transient system KS 1947+300 obtained between September 2004 and December 2005 make it possible to study the correlation between optical and X-ray activity. The optical outburst of 0.1 mag was accompanied by an increase in X-ray flux in 2004 observations.
