Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Resonance Graph of Perfect Matchings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Let G be a graph with perfect matchings and let C be a set of linearly independent even cycles of G of width at most 2. The resonance graph R(G, C) is a graph with the vertex set M a subset of M(G) such that two vertices Mi and Mj are adjacent if and ...

Predicting Evaluations of Essay by Computational Graph-Based Features

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2020
How to effectively evaluate students’ essays based on a series of relatively objective writing criteria has always been a topic of discussion. With the development of automatic essay scoring, a key question is whether the writing quality can be evaluated

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Beyond Low-pass Filtering: Graph Convolutional Networks with Automatic Filtering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Graph convolutional networks are becoming indispensable for deep learning from graph-structured data. Most of the existing graph convolutional networks share two big shortcomings.

Pre-service Teachers' Ways of Thinking of Qualitative Graph Construction in a Continuous Covariation Situation

open access: yesJournal of Educational Research in Mathematics, 2020
In Middle School Mathematics 1 of the 2015 revised Korean mathematics curriculum, before the definition of a function, the task of constructing a qualitative graph of the relationship between two changing quantities has been newly proposed.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Energy, Laplacian Energy and Zagreb Index of Line Graph, Middle Graph and Total Graph [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The energy of a graph G is defined as the sum of the singular values of its adjacency matrix and the Laplacian energy of G is defined as the sum of the distance between Laplacian eigenvalues and average degree of G.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

On Harmonious Coloring of Middle Graph ofOn Harmonious Coloring of Middle Graph of $C(C_n)$, $C(K_{1,n})$ and $C(P_n)$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, we present the structural properties of middle graph of central graph of cycles $C_n$, star graphs $K_{1,n}$ and paths $P_n$ denoted by $M(C(C_n))$, $M(C(K_{1,n}))$ and $M(C(P_n))$ respectively.
