Pigmy moths (Lepidoptera, Nepticulidae) from the Middle Volga Basin
Entomological Review, 2013Fifty-seven species of the family Nepticulidae were found in the Middle Volga Basin. The family includes four genera: Bohemannia Stainton, 1859 (1 species), Ectoedemia Busck, 1907 (15), Stigmella Schrank, 1802 (38), and Trifurcula Zeller, 1848 (3 species). The mines made by pigmy moth larvae are very specific in the study area.

New and rare alien plants in the Middle Volga
Russian Journal of Biological Invasions, 2013Reports on the findings of new and rare invasive species in the flora of the Middle Volga Region (Samara and Ulyanovsk oblasts and Tatarstan) are presented. Most of the plants were found on railway embankments and in flower beds and lawns, as well as on the coast of the Kuybyshev and Saratov reservoirs.

Geoinformation mapping of soil erosion in the Middle Volga region
Eurasian Soil Science, 2017© 2017, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.The results of a medium-scale geoinformation mapping of soil erosion on an area of about 150000 km2 in the Middle Volga region are analyzed using the catchment-based approach. A quantitative index of the development of soil erosion on the agricultural lands is suggested.
