Mechanical Properties Characterization of Welded 3CR12 Stainless Steel

open access: yesITEGAM-JETIA
The use of metal inert gas (MIG) welding for joining metals frequently results in the change of the mechanical properties and the microstructure of the metal at the welded areas. This is due to the welding heat input and heat transfer.

Effect of PWHT and Electrical Parameters on Austenitic Phase, Sigma Phase and Corrosion in Duplex Steels S32205

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 4, April 2026.
Welding power and post‐weld heat treatment (PWHT) at 850°C influence phase transformations in S32205 duplex stainless steel, promoting sigma phase formation and reducing corrosion resistance. PWHT at 850°C also replicates HAZ‐like microstructures in base metal, enabling improved characterization of weld joint properties.

Weld fumes in high pressure MIG welding.

open access: yesQUARTERLY JOURNAL OF THE JAPAN WELDING SOCIETY, 1988
The increase of the weld fumes was one of the problems in arc welding under high pressure as an underwater welding. The fume generation phenomena in MIG welding under high pressure were studied and the formula to estimate the fume generation was proposed. It was shown that the fume generation was closely connected with the arc power which increased with

Optimizing Post Friction Stir Welding Heat Treatment in Dissimilar Friction Stir Welded 6061/AlSi10MgMn Joints for Electrical Vehicle Battery Housing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 5, 4 March 2026.
Microstructural evolution and hardness optimization along the cross‐section of friction stir welded AA6061/AlSi10MgMn joints, for electric vehicle battery housings, were investigated. Postweld aging between 170°C and 220°C enhances hardness uniformity within the nugget zone.

Role of Machine Learning and Big Data Analytics in Enhancing the Efficiency of Gas Metal Arc Welding Process

open access: yesIET Collaborative Intelligent Manufacturing, Volume 8, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This study applies machine learning and big data analytics to optimise Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) parameters, achieving high predictive accuracy for weld strength, penetration, and width. The methodology overcomes experimental data limitations by aggregating literature datasets and comparing multiple supervised algorithms. While demonstrated on GMAW,

Effect of Cyclic Heat Treatment on the Mechanical Properties and Microstructure of Al 6061 Alloy

open access: yesMaterial Design &Processing Communication, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This study investigates the influence of different cyclic heat‐treatment schedules on the mechanical behavior and microstructural evolution of Al 6061 alloy. Five identically sourced plates were subjected to controlled variations in quenching rate, aging temperature, and cooling conditions to establish a consistent microstructure–property relationship.
