From Damage to Functionality: Remanufacturing of Thrust Roller Bearings by Tailored Forming
Herein, the wear and fatigue behavior of repaired bearing raceways with a new powder alloy is investigated using a FE8 test‐rig and an oscillating tribometer. The tests are compared with industrial manufactured bearings to evaluate the repair quality. The repair can extend the service life of the repaired bearing to that of a new bearing and improves ...

Radial Deposition for Mechanical Bonding of Dissimilar Metals in Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing
Concentric radial deposition patterns are used in a wire‐arc directed energy deposition system to produce a layer‐by‐layer in situ bimetallic coupling between AA5356 and SS308L. The additively generated mechanical bond is produced by residual pressure, created by different thermal expansion coefficients between the concentric material bands during ...

Analysis of arc and molten droplet behavior and joint temperature field in KTIG-MIG hybrid welding
To address the insufficient deep penetration in conventional keyhole tungsten inert gas-metal inert gas (KTIG-MIG) hybrid welding and enhance the efficiency and quality of medium-thick plate welding, a novel KTIG-MIG hybrid welding method was developed ...

Comparative Fatigue Analysis of Structural Steels Considering Welding and Surface Effects
ABSTRACT There are limited data on the very high‐cycle fatigue for structural steel welds for over 10 million cycles. The purpose of this research is a fatigue performance comparison of the welds made of steels S355JR+AR and S275JR+AR. The goal of reaching the gigacycle fatigue domain is achieved using the ultrasonic fatigue testing at 20 kHz.

An investigation on plasma-MIG hybrid welding process of thick plate aluminum
Plasma-Metal Inert Gas (MIG) hybrid welding was employed to carry out bead on plate welding of an aluminum alloy A5052. The plasma arc was ignited to form a keyhole, and a series of welding systems were developed starting with MIG welding. The convective
