Numerical Modeling of Pulse MIG Welding

open access: yesISIJ International, 2007
A new heat source model for pulse MIG welding is developed which enables estimation of weld bead width and central penetration obtained with industrially pure Argon, Argon +5%, 25% CO 2 . The heat source model takes into account effects of various pulse current parameters such as pulse peak time, base time and mean current.
