Location, Location, Location: Monazite Behaviour During UHT Metamorphism and Melt Crystallization

open access: yesJournal of Metamorphic Geology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Monazite is a robust mineral for recording the suprasolidus evolution of migmatites and granulites. However, monazite commonly has diverse compositions and yields variable dates in a single sample; understanding the controls on monazite behaviour and composition during partial melting and melt crystallization are not always straightforward ...

The Djourdé-Sinassi magmatic-migmatitic complex, Northern Cameroon: a record of vertical extrusion of the Pan-African partially molten orogenic root

open access: yesBSGF - Earth Sciences Bulletin
The Djourdé-Sinassi magmatic-migmatitic complex is part of the juvenile Neoproterozoic Garoua Domain located in Northern Cameroon. It is surrounded by the Zalbi, Poli and Rey-Bouba greenstone belts, limited to the east by the sinistral Tcholliré-Banyo ...

Analysis of polar compounds in biodegraded heavy oil by negative ion electrospray Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry

open access: yesShiyou shiyan dizhi, 2022
Taking the influence of lithological characteristics differences on the genesis of pores in migmatite reservoirs as the main line, the genesis and characteristics of pores were analyzed from the perspective of the relationship between rock fabric and ...

The Montagne Noire migmatitic dome emplacement (French Massif Central): New insights from petrofabric and AMS studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
International audienceIn the southern French Massif Central, the Montagne Noire axial zone is a NE-SW elongated granite-migmatite dome emplaced within Visean south-verging recumbent folds and intruded by syn- to late-migmatization granitoids.

Low abundance of phytophagous nematodes under invasive exotic Pinus elliottii – enemy release and plant–soil feedbacks

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary According to the enemy release hypothesis (ERH), the fitness of exotic plants and their capacity to become invasive in their area of introduction may partly be attributable to the loss of their natural enemies. Invasive species may also benefit from modifying soil attributes and thereby creating a positive soil–plant feedback.

Physicochemical conditions of the formation of the Larino granite-gneiss dome (South Ural)

open access: yesGeoresursy
The Larino granite-gneiss dome is located on the border of the Aramil-Sukhtelya and Magnitogorsk megazones and is a two-headed anticlinal structure, the nuclear parts of which are composed of granitoids of the Pervomai and Larino massifs, and their ...

Implications of New Geological Mapping and U‐Pb Zircon Dating for the Barrovian Tectono‐Metamorphic Evolution of the Lepontine Dome (Central European Alps)

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2023
The Barrovian metamorphism of the Lepontine dome is manifested by isograds that cross‐cut tectonic nappe contacts, which is commonly interpreted as metamorphism that occurred after nappe emplacement.

Coeval extensional shearing and lateral underflow during Late Cretaceous core complex development in the Niğde Massif, Central Anatolia, Turkey [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
27 p.International audienceThe Nig¢de Massif, at the southern tip of the Central Anatolian Crystalline Complex, consists of two structural units. Foliations in the lower unit define a dome cored by migmatites.

Exploring the Gravimetric and Geochronological Links in Ancient Terranes of the São Francisco Craton and Borborema Province, NE‐Brazil

open access: yesTerra Nova, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Deep crustal fragments and structural lineaments identified through satellite gravity data provide evidence for the extension of the reworked ancient basement of the Central African Block into the northern São Francisco Craton and southern Borborema Province.

Structure of lamprophyres: a discriminant marker for Variscan and Alpine tectonics in the Argentera-Mercantour Massif, Maritime Alps

open access: yesBSGF - Earth Sciences Bulletin, 2019
Structural and microstructural analyses are carried out in two sites of the Argentera-Mercantour Massif, Valscura and Val du Haut Boréon, where swarms of lamprophyres intruded into Variscan migmatites and early Permian granitoids. Efforts aim at defining
