Dynamic migration algorithms for distributed object systems
Proceedings 21st International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems, 2002Complex distributed object systems require dynamic migration algorithms that allocate and reallocate objects to respond to changes in the load or in the availability of the resources. We present the Cooling and Hot-Spot migration algorithms that reallocate objects when the load on a processor is high or when the latency of a task is high.

Xen Live Migration with Slowdown Scheduling Algorithm
2010 International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing, Applications and Technologies, 2010With the increasing number of technology areas using Virtual Machine (VM) platforms, challenges exist in Virtual Machine migrating from one physical host to another. However, the complexity of these virtualized environments presents additional management challenges.

An optimal migration algorithm for dynamic load balancing
Concurrency: Practice and Experience, 1998Summary: The problem of redistributing the work load on parallel computers is considered. An optimal redistribution algorithm, which minimizes the Euclidean norm of the migrating load, is derived. The relationship between this algorithm and some existing algorithms is discussed and the convergence of the new algorithm is studied.

Self-organizing Migration Algorithm on GPU with CUDA
2013A modification of Self-organizing migration algorithm for general-purpose computing on graphics processing units is proposed in this paper. The algorithm is implemented in C++ with its core parts in c-CUDA. Its implementation details and performance are evaluated and compared to previous, pure C++ version of algorithm.
