Unravelling migratory connections: the next level

Molecular Ecology, 2013
Migration is widespread among birds, and the strength of the link between the breeding and wintering grounds, migratory connectivity, influences many ecological and evolutionary processes. Despite its importance, migratory connectivity is poorly estimated for most species.

Migratory TCP: connection migration for service continuity in the Internet

Proceedings 22nd International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems, 2003
Today's Internet services are commonly built over TCP, the standard Internet connection-oriented reliable transport protocol. The endpoint naming scheme of TCP, based on network layer (IP) addresses, creates an implicit binding between a service and the IP address of a server providing it, throughout the lifetime of a client connection.

Migratory connectivity in barn swallows and other hirundines

Journal of Ornithology, 2007
Environmental indicators such as the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) (Pettorelli et al. 2005) provide important insights into spatial and temporal patterns of primary productivity and hence food availability for many different organisms, including barn swallows Hirundo rustica (Saino et al. 2004a, b).

State of Protection for Migratory Marine Connectivity

Migratory species connect our world both biologically and politically. This spatial and temporal linkage between breeding and non-breeding areas is known as migratory connectivity, which underpins the population persistence of some of the most charismatic species in our oceans.

Making Migratory Connections with Stable Isotopes

2003
A fundamental aim of marking and tracking migratory birds is to link breeding, wintering and stopover areas within discrete populations. Such information allows critical insight into factors influencing populations at several geographical scales and so is fundamental to conservation of migrant birds (Myers et al. 1987; Moore et al.
