Is mild asthma truly mild? The patients’ real-life setting
Expert Review of Respiratory Medicine, 2022Asthma exacerbations and, more rarely, fatal asthma attacks have been reported in mild asthma patients, suggesting poor disease control and awareness of its potential burden. Our study aimed to explore outside the hospital/specialist setting the perspective and disease treatment behavior of patients self-reporting a mild asthma diagnosis.Computer ...

AbstractWithin the cognitive functioning continuum from normal ageing to dementia three broad states can be distinguished: normal functioning for age, clear-cut impairment meeting diagnostic criteria for dementia, and mild cognitive impairment (MCI), which falls below normal but short of dementia in severity (Fig. 8.5.1.1.1).

A one stage repair is presented for mild hypospadias with or without chordee, entailing a local flap of shaft skin rotated forward to the tip of the glans and tubularized. The two halves of the glans penis are brought together to enclose the neourethra. This procedure results in a normal appearing penis.

AbstractMild pyelectasis is a common finding which is often incidental, with no significant long term sequelae. However, there is a small association with aneuploidy and postnatal renal pathology. In this paper the aetiology and prognosis are discussed and the management strategies described. Copyright © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Is ‘MILD’ sleep‐disordered breathing in women really mild?
Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, 2010AbstractSleep‐disordered breathing (SDB) consists of episodes of periodic obstructive or central sleep apnea and partial upper airway obstruction. The first two are well recognized and diagnosed, although still underdiagnosed. Traditionally, research in SDB has focused mainly on male patients with obstructive sleep apnea using apnea/hypopnea index (AHI)

The products of mild alkaline and mild acid hydrolysis of plasmalogens
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1962Lysoplasmalogen with α,β-unsaturated ether structure is the sole product of the hydrolysis of choline and ethanolamine plasmalogens in 0.5 N aquaeous and 0.1 N methanoliic NaOH and also of the hydrolysis of choline plasmalogen with snake venom. Treatment of lysoplasmalogen with 90% acetic acid results in formation of cyclic acetal phospholipid.

An adverse intrauterine programming occurs in diabetes and obesity as the consequence of an adverse maternal environment that affects the appropriate fetoplacental development and growth. Experimental models of diabetes and fat overfeeding have provided relevant tools to address putative mechanisms of the adverse intrauterine programming.

Neither blood pressure measurements nor other clinical features permit an entirely adequate characterization of individuals having mild hypertension. However, although any definition of mild hypertension is arbitrary, the concept is firmly established in clinical practice and such classifications can prove useful as operational diagnoses.

To investigate the impact associated with mild hypoglycemia among patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) in the United States and to identify risk factors among different subpopulations. We performed a literature search to gather available data allowing estimation of rates of mild hypoglycemia.
