Effect of Chloride Ion on Corrosion of Mild Steel in the 7.0 mol/L H3PO4 Solution in the Presence of 1,10-Phenanthroline

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2020
The inhibition effects of chloride ion and 1,10-phenanthroline (PTL) on the corrosion of mild steel in 7.0 mol/L H3PO4 solution were studied by potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscope and weight loss techniques.

Temperature Effects on the Corrosion Inhibition of Mild Steel in Acidic Solutions by Aqueous Extract of Fenugreek Leaves

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2007
Gravimetric method was used to study the temperature effects on mild steel corrosion in 2.0M of HCl and H2SO4 in the absence and presence of aqueous extract for fenugreek leaves (AEFL). In 2.0 M HCl, the results revealed that the inhibition efficiency of

Development of new corrosion inhibitor tested on mild steel supported by electrochemical study

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
Mild steel is a metal which is commonly used in industrials and manufacturing of equipment for most industries round the world. It is cheaper cost compared with the other metals and its durable, hard and easy-to-wear physical properties make it a major ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Green inhibitor from Thaumatococcus daniellii Benn for corrosion mitigation of mild steel in 1M HCl

open access: yesCurrent Research in Green and Sustainable Chemistry, 2021
Mild steel is widely used for automobile and structural applications, however, mild steel greatly rusts in acidic environment. Applications of corrosion inhibitors and protective coatings as well as cathodic protection are some of the techniques by which

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
