[Milk feeding of infants and cow's milk protein hypersensitivity].

Archives de pediatrie : organe officiel de la Societe francaise de pediatrie, 1995
Cow milk protein intolerance (CMPI) is characterized by a wide range of symptoms and signs affecting the gastro-intestinal tract, the respiratory system and the skin. A better definition, a stricter application of diagnostic criteria and critical evaluation of certain immunologic correlates can contribute to a better understanding and preventive ...

SPECIFIC HYPERSENSITIVENESS TO OWN BREAST MILK

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1932
The case reported here appears to be an example of anaphylaxis-like sensitization of a patient to her own breast milk. In a previous communication, I 1 mentioned having observed three patients who had a serum sickness-like illness following rapid absorption of their own milk.

Reaginic hypersensitivity to cow's milk proteins.

Helvetica paediatrica acta, 1981
Seven cases of infants presenting an anaphylactic reaction at their first cow's milk or formula feeding after a period of exclusive breast feeding are reported. Laboratory data are consistent in all cases with an IgE-mediated pathogenetic mechanism. All infants received cow's milk at nursery.

Prediction of the Development of Tolerance to Milk in Children With Cow’s Milk Hypersensitivity

Pediatrics, 2005
Vanto T, Helpphla S, Juntunen-Backman K, et al. J Pediatr . 2004;144:218–222 To investigate whether the development of tolerance to cow’s milk (CM) by the age of 4 years can be predicted with a skin-prick test (SPT) and measurements of total or specific IgE in the serum taken at the time of diagnosis of CM hypersensitivity (CMH).

Immunofluorescent Studies in Crib Deaths: Absence of Evidence of Hypersensitivity to Cow’s Milk

American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1971
The technic of immunofluorescent staining of frozen sections was employed to explore the theory that sudden death in infancy might be due to hypersensitivity to cow’s milk. Blocks of tissue from six organs were taken at autopsy from 89 infants who had died suddenly, unexpectedly, and inexplicably, and 76 control infants who had died of recognized ...

No difference in symptoms during challenges with homogenized and unhomogenized cow's milk in subjects with subjective hypersensitivity to homogenized milk

Journal of Dairy Research, 2003
It has been hypothesized that certain consumers tolerate untreated cow's milk, but react to processed (i.e. homogenized and pasteurized) cow's milk although they do not suffer from IgE-mediated cow's milk allergy or lactose intolerance. The aim of the study was to compare the tolerance of unhomogenized and homogenized cow's milk in lactose tolerant ...

[Allergic gastric hemorrhage in a case of milk hypersensitivity].

Cow's milk hypersensitivity in an elderly woman: clinical and immunologic findings.

Annals of allergy, 1986
We report a case of allergy to cow's milk diagnosed in a 79-year-old woman, who had the habit of drinking large amounts of milk and other dairy products for several years. She had been an asthmatic since the age of 40. At age 65, she noticed a correlation between cheese and milk intake and onset of asthma and two episodes of shock, and she has been ...

Clinical trials of Astemizol in children with cow's milk hypersensitivity.

Roczniki Akademii Medycznej w Bialymstoku (1995), 1997
A group of 36 children aged from 1 10/12 to 11 years was the subject of clinical and laboratory examinations. It was found that there is a close relationship between food hypersensitivity to milk and symptoms of the skin (81%), upper (61%) and lower (55%) respiratory tract, digestive tract (47%) and central nervous system (14%).
