Hypersensitivity reactions from inhalation of milk proteins

Allergy, 1994
We describe the case of a young man with IgE‐mediated hyper sensitivity to milk, casein, and lactoglobulin, who went into respiratory crisis every time he milked his sheep.

Milk hypersensitivity in an infant with gastroschisis

Journal of Pediatric Surgery, 1982
An infant with gastroschisis is presented whoseepisodes of apparent postoperative sepsis were due to milk protein hypersensitivity. Young infants with intestinal damage and increased mucosal permeability to potential antigens may be at risk for developing dietary hypersensitivity reactions.

Human milk oligosaccharides alleviate stress-induced visceral hypersensitivity and associated microbiota dysbiosis

The Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry, 2022
Pain-related functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) are characterized by visceral hypersensitivity (VHS) associated with alterations in the microbiota-gut-brain axis. Since human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) modulate microbiota, gut and brain, we investigated whether HMOs impact VHS, and explored the role of gut microbiota.

Hypersensitivity to cows milk

Drug and Therapeutics Bulletin, 1966
Hypersensitivity to cows’ milk has been suggested as a common cause of digestive, respiratory and skin disorder in infants.1–5 However, though most infants fed on cows’ milk develop antibodies to it,6 7 the evidence that illness commonly results is uncertain.8 The possible relationship of cows’ milk to ‘cot death’, infantile eczema and certain forms of

Cow's milk stimulated lymphocyte proliferation and TNFα secretion in hypersensitivity to cow's milk protein

Clinical Immunology, 2003
Although there is no reliable single laboratory test available for the diagnosis of cow's milk allergy, if an allergic mechanism is suspected, a number of laboratory studies may be useful in delineating specific proteins responsible for these disorders.

Hypersensitivity to methylprednisolone sodium succinate in children with milk allergy

The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice, 2014
Rare but potentially fatal hypersensitivity reactions to intravenous corticosteroids have been described in the literature in recent years. Most reactions involve succinylated corticosteroids. The pathogenesis is considered to be immune-IgE mediated, in which the corticosteroid molecule serves as a hapten.

SPECIFIC HYPERSENSITIVENESS TO OWN BREAST MILK

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1932
The case reported here appears to be an example of anaphylaxis-like sensitization of a patient to her own breast milk. In a previous communication, I 1 mentioned having observed three patients who had a serum sickness-like illness following rapid absorption of their own milk.

[Milk feeding of infants and cow's milk protein hypersensitivity].

Archives de pediatrie : organe officiel de la Societe francaise de pediatrie, 1995
Cow milk protein intolerance (CMPI) is characterized by a wide range of symptoms and signs affecting the gastro-intestinal tract, the respiratory system and the skin. A better definition, a stricter application of diagnostic criteria and critical evaluation of certain immunologic correlates can contribute to a better understanding and preventive ...

Reaginic hypersensitivity to cow's milk proteins.

Helvetica paediatrica acta, 1981
Seven cases of infants presenting an anaphylactic reaction at their first cow's milk or formula feeding after a period of exclusive breast feeding are reported. Laboratory data are consistent in all cases with an IgE-mediated pathogenetic mechanism. All infants received cow's milk at nursery.
