Observations on the effect of raw milk quality on the keeping quality of pasteurized milk
Letters in Applied Microbiology, 1995Raw milk was stored for up to 14 d at 4 degrees C and pasteurized on days 1, 3, 4, 7, 9 and 14. Precautions were taken to eliminate post-pasteurization contamination. The pasteurized milks were stored at 4 degrees C and analysed at weekly intervals for standard plate counts (SPC), psychotrophic counts (PC) and aerobic spore counts (ASC).

Bacteriostatic qualities of human milk
The Journal of Pediatrics, 1985A practical concern of the working mother is the bacteriostatic quality of human milk over time without benefit of refrigeration. Therefore, quantitative cultures of human milk stored at room temperature were performed at 0, 2, 4, 6, and 24 hours after expression.

milk fat components and milk quality
2017In this chapter physico‐chemical composition of milk lipids from different species is discussed. Fat content, fatty acids, milk fat globule diameter in large, small ruminants and equids are compared. Physico‐chemical characteristics of lipids are discussed either form a nutritional point of view for the potential to influence human health or for the ...

The quality of sheep milk: a review
Australian Journal of Experimental Agriculture, 1997Summary. The quality of sheep milk is paramount in controlling the quality of dairy products made from it. We describe the factors affecting the quality of the milk of sheep milked commercially for dairy production, with an emphasis on Australia and New Zealand.

Electrochemical monitoring of the breast milk quality
Food Chemistry, 2018The electrochemical techniques were used to determine the total antioxidant capacity of breast milks and the results were compared with a commonly used spectrophotometric (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, DPPH) method. Breast milk from mothers of preterm infants was monitored in three lactation phases and after storage of expressed milk by monitoring ...

Nutritional Quality of Milk Proteins
2012The first part of this chapter outlines general aspects concerning dietary proteins, i.e. protein requirements in human diet, role and nutritional quality of proteins and methods for its evaluation (CS, Protein Digestibility Corrected AA Score [PDCAAS]), protein digestibility and efficiency of protein utilisation.

The milk quality control schemes operated on contractual and voluntary bases by the United Kingdom Milk Marketing Boards are discussed. These include schemes for compositional quality, hygienic quality, antibiotics. sediment, extraneous water, cell count, and brucellosis testing. In addition to the schemes for individual ex‐farm supplies, reference is
