An extended milking interval of 24 h (24-h milking interval (24h-MI)) constitutes the acute phase of cow adaptation to once-daily milking (ODM). A recent trial including 724 24h-MI challenges demonstrated that milk yield responses to this acute phase of ...

Response to Selection for Milk Yield in Holsteins
Data were collected for 11 yr in five institutional herds in Virginia to determine the response to selection for milk yield and to examine correlated response in other traits. A randombred control population allowed separation of genetic and environmental effects.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Relationships between milk protein polymorphisms and production traits in cattle: a systematic review and meta-analysis [PDF]
Many researchers who have studied the relationships between milk protein polymorphisms and some yield traits in dairy cattle have reported incompatible results.

Milk Secretion Rate as Related To Milk Yield and Frequency of Milking
Abstract The rate of milk secretion does not seem to be related to intramammary pressure when the milking interval does not exceed 12 hr and daily production does not exceed 65 to 70 lb. At higher levels of production there is a question as to whether the secretion rate is diminished or whether the apparent decrease in secretion rate is due to ...

Components of Genetic Variance in Milk Yield
Abstract The purpose of this research was to determine the importance of non-additive genetic effects and genetic maternal effects in the inheritance of milk production in dairy cattle. Expressing milk yield as a deviation from herdmate average eliminated most of the variation due to herds, years, seasons, and their interactions without affecting the

Milk production, fluid balance and temperature regulation in lactating camels (Camelus dromedarius) [PDF]
The aims of this thesis were to identify good milking and watering routines for camels, and to better understand the physiological mechanisms that enable camels to produce milk during long periods of water deprivation.

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.
