Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Effects of pregnancy on daily milk yield of Holstein-Friesian dairy cattle

open access: yes, 2004
First, second and third lactation curves of 21,885 first lactation dairy cows were allowed to vary depending on the months in milk at which the cow became pregnant. The curves were modelled using a 4th degree polynomial of days in milk. In the models for

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

RELATIONSHIP OF UDDER AND BODY MEASUREMENTS WITH MILK IELD IN HOLSTEIN COWS REARED IN EGYPT [PDF]

open access: yesFayoum Journal of Agricultural Research and Development, 2019
The aim of the present study was to study the relationship of udder and body measurements with milk yield in Holstein cows in Egypt. Milk yield, udder and body measurements were recorded using 10 Holstein cows in first and second parity.

Measurement of Liner Slips, Milking Time, and Milk Yield

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1996
Liner slip or rapid air leakage past the mouthpiece of the milking machine liner is related to high rates of new cases of mastitis. A real time technique was developed to monitor the air flow into the milking machine cluster during liner slips as well as to monitor milking time and milk yield using a commercial type pipeline milking system.

A covariance function for feed intake, live weight and milk yield estimated using a random regression model [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
To enable investigation of genetic variation during early lactation in heifers, multitrait covariance functions were used to describe genetic covariances among feed intake, live weight, and milk yield during the first 15 wk of lactation (n = 628). Random

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Effect of Environmental Factors on Milk Production Traits and Energy-Corrected Milk Yield in Karan Fries Cattle

open access: yesInternational Journal of Bio-Resource and Stress Management
The present study was conducted to analyze milk production traits and energy-corrected milk yield using 11569 first lactation milk production records of 1393 Karan Fries cows, calved between 1989 and 2014.

Impact of single nucleotide polymorphisms in leptin, leptin receptor, growth hormone receptor, and diacylglycerol acyltransferase (DGAT1) gene loci on milk production, feed, and body energy traits of UK dairy cows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The impact of 9 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) in the leptin (LEP), leptin receptor (LEPR), growth hormone receptor (GHR), and diacylglycerol acyltransferase (DGAT1) gene loci on daily milk production, feed intake, and feed conversion, and weekly ...
