Compliance error compensation in robotic-based milling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The paper deals with the problem of compliance errors compensation in robotic-based milling. Contrary to previous works that assume that the forces/torques generated by the manufacturing process are constant, the interaction between the milling tool and ...

Retractions in Rheumatology: Trends, Causes, and Implications for Research Integrity

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We aimed to describe the trends and main reasons for study retraction in rheumatology literature. Methods We reviewed the Retraction Watch database to identify retracted articles in rheumatology. We recorded the main study characteristics, authors’ countries, reasons for retraction, time from publication to retraction, and trends over time ...

Modeling dynamics of parallel milling processes in time-domain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The use of parallel milling processes is increasing in various industries due to several advantages of these machine tools. Parallel milling processes are the processes where more than one milling tool simultaneously cut a workpiece.

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Dry Separation of Palm Kernel and Palm Shell Using a Novel Five-Stage Winnowing Column System

open access: yesTechnologies, 2016
The conventional separation system for the recovery of palm kernel from its palm shell–kernel mixture using water as process media generates a considerable amount of waste effluent that harms the environment.

Output-Only Time-Varying Modal Parameter Identification Method Based on the TARMAX Model for the Milling of a Thin-Walled Workpiece

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
The process parameters chosen for high-performance machining in the milling of a thin-walled workpiece are determined by a stability prediction model, which needs accurate modal parameters of the machining system. However, the in-process modal parameters

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Toolpath dependent stability lobes for the milling of thin-walled parts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The milling of thin-walled parts can become a seriously complex problem because the parts have variable dynamics. Firstly, the dynamics evolution of the part has been calculated through Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis.
