Modelling of cutting fibrous composite materials: current practice [PDF]
Using fibre reinforced polymers (FRP) is increasing across many industries. Although FRP are laid-up in the near-net shape, several cutting operations are necessary to meet quality and dimensional requirements.

Research of Prediction of Gear Milling Force based on FEM Simulation of Oblique Cutting
Considering the milling force calculated by using mechanical model or milling finite element simulation is time- consuming and tedious,a prediction method of milling force based on the finite element simulation of oblique cutting is proposed.

Grain boundary triple junctions are an essential ingredient of the microstructure of polycrystalline materials. In this study, a triple junction is observed using atomic‐resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy and characterized. Computer simulations reveal that the junction has a dislocation character that is determined by the joining ...

Adaptive Control of Milling Forces under Fractional Order Holds
This paper introduces a novel discrete-time modelreference based control of the tool-work-piece interaction force in a milling process. The novelty of the scheme relies on the use of a fractional order hold (FROH) instead of a traditional zero order hold

Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

A Framework of State Estimation on Laminar Grinding Based on the CT Image–Force Model
It is a great challenge for a safe surgery to localize the cutting tip during laminar grinding. To address this problem, we develop a framework of state estimation based on the CT image–force model.

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries
