A Hybrid High-Order method for Leray-Lions elliptic equations on general meshes

open access: yes, 2016
In this work, we develop and analyze a Hybrid High-Order (HHO) method for steady non-linear Leray-Lions problems. The proposed method has several assets, including the support for arbitrary approximation orders and general polytopal meshes.

Modeling seismic wave propagation using staggered-grid mimetic finite differences

open access: yesBulletin of Computational Applied Mathematics, 2017
Mimetic finite difference (MFD) approximations of continuous gradient and divergence operators satisfy a discrete version of the Gauss-Divergence theorem on staggered grids.

Arbitrary order nodal mimetic discretizations of elliptic problems on polygonal meshes

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 2011
We develop and analyze a new family of mimetic methods on unstructured polygonal meshes for the diffusion problem in primal form. These methods are derived from the local consistency condition that is exact for polynomials of any degree m >= 1. The degrees of freedom are (a) solution values at the quadrature nodes of the Gauss-Lobatto formulas on each ...

Mimetic Staggered Discretization of Incompressible Navier–Stokes for Barycentric Dual Mesh [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A staggered discretization of the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations is presented for polyhedral non orthogonal nonsmooth meshes admitting a barycentric dual mesh. The discretization is constructed by using concepts of discrete exterior calculus. The method strictly conserves mass, momentum and energy in the absence of viscosity.

A Soft Robotic Fish With a Dielectric Elastomer Actuator Body and Negative Stiffness Spine

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work introduces a bio‐mimetic soft robotic fish driven by fiber‐reinforced dielectric elastomer actuators integrated as its body. By prestretching this active skin against a flexible spine, a negative stiffness system is created, enabling large‐amplitude bending.

Engineering MnPt Bimetallic Nanozymes for Cascade Enzymatic Therapy and Enhanced Radio‐Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A CD44‐targeted MnPt bimetallic nanozyme (HD@MnO2) integrates multienzyme‐like activity with cGAS–STING activation to boost radio‐immunotherapy. Through cascade biocatalysis, it depletes glutathione, relieves hypoxia, and amplifies ROS, enhancing radiotherapy‐induced DNA damage and immunogenic cell death. The nanozyme promotes dendritic cell maturation

A Verification Suite of Test Cases for the Barotropic Solver of Ocean Models

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems
The development of any atmosphere or ocean model warrants a suite of test cases (TCs) to verify its spatial and temporal discretizations, order of accuracy, stability, reproducibility, portability, scalability, etc.

Tailored Porous Bimetallic Nanozyme Platform for Full‐Cycle Therapeutics of Intestinal Ischemia/Reperfusion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Intestinal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury presents a biphasic pathology: an acute oxidative‐inflammatory phase leading to organ failure, and a recovery phase marked by mucosal dysfunction and bacterial translocation. The developed MPB@TA‐Cu‐Ma nanocomposite functions as a dual‐phase therapeutic platform with significant efficacy. It rapidly
