Unveiling the Prognostic Power of HRR in ICU-Admitted COPD Patients: A MIMIC-IV Database Study
This study sought to examine the potential relationship between Hemoglobin/Red Cell Distribution Width Ratio (HRR) and the all-cause mortality risk in critically ill patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).In a retrospective analysis of the MIMIC-IV database, patients were divided into two groups based on a specific HRR threshold ...

A gas‐fed, zero‐gap, PEM CO2 electrolyzer is realized by incorporating PDDA+ ions onto the carbonaceous Co/N‐C electrocatalyst, with gaseous H2 and CO2 fed into the anode and cathode, respectively. Operating without an aqueous electrolyte, the system sustains a peak FECO of 65.1% at 100 mA cm−2. ABSTRACT Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction (ECO2R)

At this stage, the prognostic analysis of heart failure (HF) patients mainly focused on death and 30-day readmission, and fewer studies focused on 90-day readmission. Therefore, this study was to explore the risk factors for 90-day readmission in HF patients.Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression was used to perform variable

Prostate patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) were established from TURP and biopsy specimens with >90% success and retain key features of their tissues of origin, making them functional avatars for antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) therapy . Transfecting single cells outside the Matrigel matrix and then reconstituting organoids overcomes the 3D delivery ...

Background: Allostatic load reflects the cumulative physiological effects of chronic and repeated stress on the body and is associated with dysregulation of multiple systems. This study aimed to examine the association between the allostatic load score (ALS) and the development of delirium in intensive care unit (ICU) patients.

Living donor heart valves offer superior durability for pediatric patients but trigger immune rejection. Lentiviral delivery of viral immune‐evasion genes US2 and Serpin b9 into donor valve cells and valve tissue suppresses HLA expression, reduces PBMC clustering and cytotoxic killing, and induces transcriptional immune‐tolerance programs, paving the ...
