Time and phase alignment of distributed gateways: Theoretical analysis and experimental demonstration

open access: yesInternational Journal of Satellite Communications and Networking, Volume 44, Issue 1, Page 47-59, January/February 2026.
The performance limitation in multiple‐input multiple‐output (MIMO) feeder links due to time and phase misalignment of the ground stations is investigated. Time and phase distribution over optical fiber is considered as an approach to achieve the synchronization requirements.

DIELECTRIC RESONATOR ANTENNAS FOR 5G: A REVIEW FOCUSING ON MIMO APPLICATIONS [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings on Engineering Sciences
The design of antennas for Fifth Generation (5G) technology demands high data rates, increased capacity, and improved reliability. Microstrip patch antennas have commonly been used due to their low cost and compact size; however, they suffer from limited

Performance of multiple-input multiple-output wireless communications systems using distributed antennas

open access: yes, 2005
In this contribution we propose and investigate a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communications system, where multiple receive antennas are distributed in the area covered by a cellular cell and connected with the base-station (BS).

Performance of Uplink Multiuser Massive MIMO Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We study the performance of uplink transmission in a large-scale (massive) MIMO system, where all the transmitters have single antennas and the receiver (base station) has a large number of antennas. Specifically, we analyze achievable degrees of freedom

Reduced Complexity Detection in MIMO Systems with SC-FDE Modulations and Iterative DFE Receivers

open access: yesJournal of Sensor and Actuator Networks, 2018
This paper considers a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) system with P transmitting and R receiving antennas and different overall noise characteristics on the different receiver antennas (e.g., due to nonlinear effects at the receiver side).
