Plane localisation for MIMO radar

open access: yes2014 International Radar Conference, 2014
We consider the problem of localizing a ground plane with respect to a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar within a three-dimensional environment. An example application is a low-visibility landing radar as described by Longstaff ("MIMO radar developments at Teledyne Australia," Proc. Int. Conf. Radar, 2013).

MIMO Radar with Colocated Antennas

IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, 2007
We have provided a review of some recent results on the emerging technology of MIMO radar with colocated antennas. We have shown that the waveform diversity offered by such a MIMO radar system enables significant superiority over its phased-array counterpart, including much improved parameter identifiability, direct applicability of adaptive techniques

Spectral Coexistence of MIMO Radar and MIMO Cellular System

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2017
This paper details designing the precoder of a MIMO-radar spectrally-coexistent with a MIMO cellular system. Spectrum sharing with zero or minimal interference is achieved by using, respectively, the conventional switched null space projection (SNSP) or the newly proposed switched small singular value space projection (SSSVSP).

Multifunctionality In Radar: A Massive MIMO Radar Paradigm

2020 54th Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems, and Computers, 2020
Our research considers a radar which employs an aperture consisting of thousands of elements with multifunctional MIMO capabilities. The increased spatial degrees of freedom permits the radar to be multi-functional without significantly sacrificing desired beamwidth and angular resolution.

On Parameter Identifiability of MIMO Radar

IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2007
A multi-input multi-output (MIMO) radar system, unlike a standard phased-array radar, can transmit multiple linearly independent probing signals via its antennas. We show herein that this waveform diversity enables the MIMO radar to significantly improve its parameter identifiability. Specifically, we show that the maximum number of targets that can be

The MIMO Radar and Jammer Games

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2012
The interaction between a smart target and a smart MIMO radar is investigated from a game theory perspective. Since the target and the radar form an adversarial system, their interaction is modeled as a two-person zero-sum game. The mutual information criterion is used in formulating the utility functions.
