Rectangular mindlin plates on elastic foundations
International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 1989Abstract Rectangular plates on Winkler foundations are analysed on the basis of Mindlin's thick plate theory. The plates are simply supported on the two opposite edges and the other two edges may be arbitrarily restrained, e.g. simply supported, clamed or free.

Mindlin Plate Analysis by Segmentation Method
Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 1983A method for the numerical analysis of rectangular plates based on Mindlin's theory is presented. Any two opposite edges are assumed to be simply supported in the present analysis. A variety of boundary conditions including the mixed and the nonhomogeneous types can be specified along either of the remaining two opposite edges.

Response of a mindlin plate with trunnion
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1980Abstract The vibratory response of a circular plate with a central trunnion is considered. A harmonic force is allowed to act on the trunnion in a plane parallel to the surface of the plate. The model allows for arbitrary location of the center of mass of the trunnion and the line of action of the exciting force.

Plate spectral elements based upon Reissner–Mindlin theory
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1995AbstractPlate bending spectral elements based upon the Reissner–Mindlin theory is developed for a rectangular plate. Numerical comparison studies for static and eigenvalue problems, demonstrate the excellent performance and robustness of the present method.

Membrane-type eigenmotions of Mindlin plates
Acta Mechanica, 1985A membrane analogy is presented for eigenvalue problems of simply supported Mindlin plates of arbitrary polygonal planform. Influence of hydrostatic inplane forces and Pasternak-type foundation of the plate domain is taken into account. Analytical results are derived in a non- dimensional form, which - using the analogous membrane eigenvalues as ...

Thick/Thin Plates. Reissner-Mindlin Theory
2013Kirchhoff plate elements studied in the previous chapter are restricted to thin plate situations only (thickness/average side ≤ 0.10). Also the C 1 continuity requirement for Kirchhoff elements poses severe difficulties for deriving a conforming deflection field.
