Mine Ventilation Networks

2020
Mining ventilation networks are made up of the galleries and ducts through which the air is distributed inside the exploitations. The ultimate aim in these calculations is the dimensioning of the main fan which will supply fresh air to the mine.

Stability of air flows in mine ventilation networks

Process Safety and Environmental Protection, 2019
Abstract This paper presents an algorithm for calculating the stability of air flows in mine ventilation networks in case of random variations of air resistance. The analysis of the stability of air flows in the algorithm is based on two proposed criteria, which are calculated for each branch of mine ventilation network: the guaranteed minimum air ...

Some basic characteristics of mine ventilation networks

International Journal of Mining Engineering, 1984
An airflow direction of any diagonal branch in ventilation networks is a function of the resistance of each branch, but its own resistance is not a factor. It is difficult to determine the airflow of diagonal branches. But the airflow direction of diagonal branches in some complex networks can be discriminated by applying theproperties 3–8 to V-shaped,

Application of Coal Mine's Ventilation Network Calculation in Operation Ventilation of Highway Tunnel

International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2009, 2009
Presently ventilation problems are becoming the key problems restricting the development of long highway tunnels greatly. Some long highway tunnels have considerable complicated structures of ventilation network, thus to calculate the ventilation system with the traditional ventilation analytical method becomes difficult.

Ventilation Optimization for Multi-Level Mining Based on Global Ventilation Network Simulation

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
Multi-level mining caused confusion of air return of overall ventilation system in Jinshandian Iron Mine. Based on fluid simulation software ANSYS-CFX, a modeling method of replacing fans with negative pressure section was proposed to build accurate 3D global model of mine ventilation network. Four feasible ventilation network optimization schemes were

The application of computers to the solution of mine ventilation networks.

The ventilation circuit of a mine is a complex network of underground airways. In all but the smallest of mines, airflow through the circuit is induced by mechanical means. The relationship between the volume of air flowing and the associated pressure loss in any airway is non-linear.

Hybrid genetic algorithm for the optimization of mine ventilation network

Journal of Coal Science and Engineering (China), 2009
Used genetic algorithm (GA) to optimize the network of ventilation in order to avoid artificial convergence and speed up the convergence rate to introduce the Powell algorithm. The Powell algorithm had been integrated into GA. Powell had the effective capacity of solving the local optimal solution.

Calculating Shock Losses in Mine Ventilation Networks

2018
In this paper, we investigate the relative contribution of shock losses to the total pressure drop in a mine ventilation network. It is shown that for a specific class of mines it is necessary to consider the shock losses of mine airway junctions. This class includes mines with large airway cross-sectional areas and extended work areas.

Research on Reliability of Complex Coal Mine Ventilation Networks

2008 4th International Conference on Wireless Communications, Networking and Mobile Computing, 2008
Ventilation networks is the main part of coal mine ventilation system, it takes the responsibility to transfer fresh air to the underground laneways to keep the whole safety of coal mine. In this paper, we discuss about the reliability of the ventilation networks by using Boolean calculation and Shannon formula, and expatiate the application process ...
